twoshedsjackson
turns out my officemate decided to use my computer while i was recording the streams, which means i have to listen back and figure out which songs have little IM bleeps and bloops in them and re-record those ones. but i definitely plan on being done in the next few days. the tweedy show sounds especially great. Thanks for going to the trouble!

locke456
Okay, so I finally finished with the Admiralpalast show. It took a minute in part because the new version of Audacity totally mucked up the "Export Selection" command, which is what I used to track the show after I recorded the whole stream. The result was that each song somehow had the first 3 or so seconds of the next song attached to its end, making it so the intro to each song played twice. I cut these weird little extra bits out. My only concern is that the transitions between songs may not be totally smooth now. I was going to go back and rerecord the whole stream and just track it again with a different program, but I'm not sure how much a few microseconds of inaccuracy would bother anyone but me. So, I'm posting the show now, and if you'd like, I can go back and "fix" it later. But for those of you who don't want to wait another week, you can have this version I just have to relisten to the Tweedy show and rerecord a few of the tracks because a few computer beeps got into them. But it should be up in the next few days. Here's a semi-permanent MediaFire link to the show (nice and orderly, but you have to download each track separately): http://www.mediafire.../?v9druex6if64u And here's a .zip file link through SendSpace: http://www.sendspace.com/file/vavsht Let me know if there's any funkiness that I didn't catch on my listen-through! twoshedsjackson
For some reason track 2 (Bull Black) won't download. Any ideas? Thanks again - can't wait for the Tweedy show!

locke456
For some reason track 2 (Bull Black) won't download. Any ideas? Thanks again - can't wait for the Tweedy show! The link is working okay for me, and it looks like a lot of others have already downloaded it...not sure what could be wrong. If it still isn't working for you, I could upload that particular track somewhere else and try again
twoshedsjackson
I ended up just downloading the zip file (which I should've done in the first place). It sounds amazing - great job!
locke456
Okay, here's the Tweedy show. Same as the Wilco show...a few of the song transitions might be a little awkward, but I did the best I could with them without taking the time to rerecord and retrack the entire show. Also, as mentioned in the recording notes, I boosted the volume of "Acuff-Rose" to compensate for the lack of PA, but with the volume boosting came a fair amount of distortion, so I've also included the original, unboosted version. You can hear the unboosted version okay, you just have to pump your volume way up, and that means the crowd cheering at the end of the song is about 500db Like last time, here's the link to the MediaFire folder: http://www.mediafire.com/?zezhqq3offet5 And here's the SendSpace full .zip file link: http://www.sendspace.com/file/gw5lvq This is a really fun show, enjoy! locke456
Oh, if anyone missed the Paradiso or Vicar Street webstream downloads awhile back, I still have them up here and here. I'm not planning on rerecording either show right away; I relistened to both shows last night and the few glitches between songs that I could hear aren't really bad enough to make me want to redo both shows entirely. However, if anyone else wants to take the trouble, here's what I've been doing to get these last few streams: 1. Download Audacity (free). 2. Run Audacity and go to Edit > Preferences > Recording. 3. Set your recording device to "Stereo Mix" (this might be different on a Mac, I've never tried it). 4. Now everyone sound your computer plays will be recorded by Audacity once you hit the red "record" button in the program, so just hit record and start playing the stream. I had to set my volume at about 90 percent for the stream to be a reasonably high volume. You might have to play around with this. 5. Once you've recorded the entire thing, it's just a matter of going into Audacity with its editing function and cutting the individual tracks out of the big, long sound file that you'll have. I did this by selecting each track and using the "export selection" option to save each track as a separate mp3. You can do it a bunch of other ways if that doesn't work. 6. I exported each track as a 256kbps mp3, because I can't imagine that the original webstream is of any higher quality than that. The only webstream I haven't recorded is the Boston one, but I think there's already a recording of that out there somewhere, so I didn't bother.

mdphunk
Here's my version of the Tweedy DC show. I didn't see this thread, and it seems we posted our versions around the same time. On mine, I sweetened the audio a bit throughout, and touched up Acuff Rose in a slightly different way, trying to also eliminate the buzz on the recording. http://www.mediafire.com/?mdyjizys6qck7zi
WishfulThinking13
Which version should I choose?!

WishfulThinking13
Is there a notable difference in sound between the two? Just curious as to what the sweetening did
