camelhead
So I am a lonely Pacific Northwest fan in Eugene, OR and Wilco does not come our way all that often. This last Friday, I was waling down the street in Eugene and lo and behold, Jeff Tweedy is waking towards me! I just about shit on the sidewalk but did not make a scene because he was on his cell phone. I even had my limited edition Whole Love cd case in my jacket pocket that I pre-ordered from the fan website and a sharpie getting ready for the show that night in hopes of an autograpgh. I waited before and after the show and no luck. I REALLY would like to have an autograph on the CD cover to put into a frame along with the awesome Eugene poster from the show. MY question is this... Has anyone had any luck mailing something to be band to get a signature? Any suggestions on what address to mail to? I would include a letter, self addressed stamped envelope etc... Just wondering if I am wasting my time. I woud rather get a signature from the source rather than buying something random off of E-Bay. Any comments are welcome BTW the show in Eugene was AWESOME! dark
I have a Ryman poster signed by everyone but Jeff and I would love it signed by Mr Tweedy but then again maybe its just supposed to have 5 of
Magnetized
If I were you, camelhead, I'd write a letter describing just what happened and send that to Tony Margherita Management (click around on wilcoworld.net), along with the CD and a self-addressed stamped mailer. I have no idea whether it will work and I wouldn't hold my breath waiting for it to come back to you, but I'll bet it does, eventually. I would bet that Jeff will appreciate your giving him some space that day. And if it doesn't ever get returned, well, what are you out? $20? You can always buy another CD. And you've got a story! camelhead
I'll give it a shot and let everyone know how it turns out. I have to admit that I wanted to start signing "I Love My Label" even though JT was on the cell phone just to let him know I was a die hard fan. Wish me luck fellow Wilco's.... hwllo
Just wanted to top this and see if you had any luck with it, or if anyone else has!
deathstick
I have a Ryman poster signed by everyone but Jeff and I would love it signed by Mr Tweedy but then again maybe its just supposed to have 5 of 6 It's like having something signed by four of the starting five on the 1987 Lakers and it's missing Magic's signature. My HFD poster has four of the six, my MOCA poster was just signed by Mikael before I got the boot. I'd say tube it and bring it to another show and maybe you'll get lucky enough to get it signed. I know getting those two signatures on that poster is going to drive me insane.
anthony
My wife wrote to Tony M. and asked for autograph one year for my birthday. This is what they sent (along with a bunch of stickers):(not the frame, of course, just photo ... and guitar pick)
kidsmoke
That's a beauty! I agree with Diane about going through TMM. It's amazing to me how good this band is to their fans...they really make an effort to show their appreciation for their fans. Years ago one of my Christmas presents was an autographed YHF lp, hanging above me now. My husband arranged that through Tony's offices at the time. I treasure the thing!!! All five members of the band signed it - Jeff, John, Mikael, Glenn and LeRoy - and added some little comments. From Jeff: "To Donna - Drowsy is the new snoozin' - Jeff Tweedy". That comment probably makes sense only to fans who were around back when Jeff used to tell the story about playing at a retirement community once. A funny bit of stage banter, circa about 2002-03. The album still makes me smile every time my eyes fall on it. Thank you again, dear Wilco! Good luck getting your autograph, camelhead!

Cold as Gasoline
A friend's mom worked at a dentist's office. This mom knew a mutual friend of ours who was a big Wilco fan. Glenn apparently went to this dentist, and one day the mom said to him that X was a big fan and would he sign her YHF CD? He asked if it was OK for him to take it and have the whole band sign it. The mom actually called X and asked her and she said (of course) "do it!" Months pass and she doesn't hear anything back, figuring it got lost in the shuffle. And then an envelope arrived with her CD and the signatures of everyone in the band. So impressed with how good they are to the fans.

-seven
My husband & I are in the pic that is currently my profile pic. It's a photo that Pat took at the venue in San Sebastian, Spain last Nov. We are sitting on the beach behind the venue. We were so thrilled to be in the photo and thought it was the perfect memento of our trip so I wrote to HQ asking to purchase a copy of the photo. Never heard back. I'd still really love to have a copy of it. Maybe I'll try again sometime. Here's the photo on the band's FB page.https://www.facebook...&type=
