Glenn touring with Radiolab in October/ November

Recommended Posts

Jad, Robert, and their executive producer Ellen did an AMA (ask me anything) on Reddit last week, and Ellen just got around to answering my question:

Me: How did you get involved with Wilco & The Solid Sound Festival? I'm looking forward to seeing you guys this weekend!

Ellen: We'd done a show with Wilco's drummer, Glenn Kotche, a few years ago and he put us on a list of folks he'd like to have invited. I guess the band gets together and looks over their collective list and decides who to invite up. It was a terrific experience - what a line up we got to be a part of! - and now we're going to be touring with Glenn's band this fall with our new live show. You can find the details of where we are going at radiolab.org/live

On the show, Apocalyptical: Cataclysmic destruction. Surprising survival. In this new live stage performance, Radiolab turns its gaze to the topic of endings, both blazingly fast and agonizingly slow. With their signature blend of storytelling, science, and music, hosts Jad Abumrad and Robert Krulwich romp through hundreds of millions of years of history to arrive at the end, again and again. Joined on stage by Brooklyn guitarist and composer Sarah Lipstate, the evening will be a thought-provoking and laughter-inducing dance on the grave of our inevitable demise.

I was really on the fence about getting tickets as they are a bit pricey, but I think this seals the deal for me. Did anyone catch Radiolab's last tour?

Wow, that keeps Glenn out of the picture for 10/3-11/22, except for a couple of weeklong breaks scattered in there. So I guess we can assume no Wilco touring during that period. Maybe they'll be in the Loft working on new material, maybe with young Spencer filling in for Glenn during rehearsals?

Darin will be touring with Radiolab for all of the shows, but Glenn will only participate in those that fit in around the tour schedule.

It would be nice to see Wilco take some time off so the guys could work on or perform with their other projects like this. I think when they go off and do other things for awhile they bring back some good new energy to pour back into Wilco.

I was disappointed to see this isn't coming to Philadelphia, because I would've checked it out. I'd probably appreciate it more if I didn't feel like I was burning up like a dinosaur while I was listening  :lol
