bill39me
For those who may be attending the Bridgeport CT show it has been moved indoors - http://www.ctpost.com/local/article/Dylan-concert-moving-indoors-4662852.php
Rusty Shackleford
They say they're moving it because of recent (and possible future) rain, which has softened the grounds. But I wonder if they've also had soft ticket sales, which seem to be the case elsewhere. IMP (the promoter for the Merriweather show) keeps hyping the upcoming show, and from what I can tell, plenty of tickets are still available. It's a strange business where the Rolling Stones can sell out (?) at $600 a seat, but Bob Dylan, Wilco, and MMJ can't do it at $90.

Tickets for the Dylan tour top out at more than $200, so they ain't exactly cheap.
sonnyfeeling
The Stones tickets didn't exactly sell at those high prices:http://www.bloomberg.com/news/2013-05-01/rolling-stones-tickets-gather-moss-as-600-seats-for-sale.html I have a business partner in the LA area who got two last-minute budget seats for the first show in LA and then went back the next night when a couple more excellent seats "suddenly" became available at $85 each. Three dollars and 63 cents
I think the excuse about field conditions is BS to downplay how poorly tickets have been selling. They could have taken measures to protect the field, as they did with the Wilco ballpark shows back in 2009. I'm really peeved that I'm traveling from Pennsylvania for an arena show now, but at least it didn't get canceled like the Columbus show did. Part of the issue is oversaturation of some markets. I live an hour and a half from Merriweather and two from Camden and in the last year I could have seen Bob three times, Wilco three times, Jim James two or three times, and MMJ at least once. That's more than most casual fans would want, especially with ticket prices being so high compared to other shows at these venues this summer (combined, tickets for the other two shows I'm going/went to at Merriweather this year cost as much as my Americanarama ticket) . I'm listening to Before the Flood, the live album Bob did with the Band. I have a hunch there were hot seat packages for that tour... The other day I managed to score Red Sox/Yankees tickets for face value, so at least I'll get one ballpark on this trip
JAK2112
I think part of the problem has been bad marketing. It's weird that Wilco and MMJ sell out these venues they're playing when they headline, i honestly think if they dropped dylan and billed it as a co-headline, these shows would be selling better. A lot of Jacket/Wilco fans just don't want to shell out money to see Dylan, because he has a reputation of having a less-than-stellar live show. Whether that perception is true or not doesn't matter, a lot of the younger fans won't come out to this unfortunately.

With today's weather forecast: "TODAY: Sunny and HOT! Heat index values near 110 with temps in the 90s to near 100. TONIGHT: Muggy and humid with temps in the low 70s." From WTNH 8 (New Haven) and the fact that it's already way too hot at 9:30 AM, I'm not sure how well I would have done standing on the field for 6 hours this afternoon/evening. I'm thinking the move inside will definitely be for the best, even if it sacrifices some of that outdoor, summer festival feel.

I actually think the Arena holds more people then the Stadium does, it's a small Independent league minor league park.
