Lammycat
Eminem "Lose Yourself"Good one. But, I'll go with "Without Me" on the Marshall Mathers front.
Sir Stewart
Well Lammy, it sounds like you may like two songs from that gentleman.
Mr. Heartbreak
Good point on Journey! I didn't count the pre-Perry stuff. To me, it's not even the same band. They really did rock before Stevie-boy came along and turned them into the schlock-rock dream of every 1980s teenage girl. I don't actually hate The Clash, but I figured that would make a few heads explode. Punk does nothing for me. Never did, never will. I suppose if I were a 14-year-old British boy, I would think they were really cool, but nope. I actually did sit through London Calling after seeing it get such critical acclaim, but it was really intolerable to me. Put me in mind of Tinseltown Rebellion*, even though that song is not really relevant to that particular band. Funny how some people come to Wilco via love for The Minutemen, Clash and/or Replacements, while some of us come by way of love for classic rock like The Stones, etc. Oh, I don't care for Pavement, either. And I like a lot of The Eagles' songs. *They used to play all kinds of stuffAnd some of it was niceSome of it was musicalBut then they took some guy's adviceTo get a record deal, he said,They would have to be more punkForget their chops and play real dumbOr else they would be sunk

Mr. Heartbreak
Oh. Well, the thread is not called "A song you like from a band that pretty much does absolutely nothing for you," but I figured it was still kinda relevant.

LouieB
Viva La Vida by Coldplay. Strangely I always like hearing this when it comes on WXRT, but I really am not a fan of the group. LouieB
