SeanPhipps
"Being There" is perhaps their greatest record and is certainly one of the best albums of the '90s. Article link.
LouieB
Everyone here loves Being There but calling it their best album is certainly up for debate. Good luck with this. LouieB
GtrPlyr
Seems like a typical "click-bait" headline that a lot of sites employ these days. It was their first good record, but not their best as far as songwriting, arranging and unique vision goes, at least in my books.
remphish1
Still my favorite of theirs
d. boony
"Born from the ashes of alt country progenitors Uncle Tupelo" Is it some sort of cosmic requirement that every writer saying anything about Wilco, anywhere, ever, must use this language?
The Inside of Outside
Being There flat out rocks. There is a lot of southern fried rock on there, or "odd countrified psychedelia", as this author puts it. It was groundbreaking for the band - I remember clearly thinking that the first time I heard Misunderstood on a bootleg tape a month or so before the album was released. Love it. Davy the homunculus
Although I am but a homunculus and my utterings mean little to you forum folks, I must agree: Being There is tops!
worldrecordplayer
Been listening to this album for almost 20 years now, and it still blows me away each time. A landmark recording for me. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
junkiesmile
He repeats "nothing" more than "thank you" on Misunderstood. That kind of mistake turns me off on reviews.
LouieB
So apparently this reviewer has also never seen Wilco in concert either, because Misunderstood is a fairly common feature of live shows. LouieB
