Why do you come to VC regularly? I like the people here. Even ction. And JUDE. What do you get out of coming here? The illusion that I'm outgoing and social, which I am online, but in reality I'm a timid, awkward person who has enormous difficulty making new friends, and who is far more comfortable holing up at home with my girlfriend and my cats and my internet connection and ignoring the outside world. Teh Interwebs, and VC in particular, give me the social life that I am too inept to find in person. How did you get into VC? If I remember correctly, I was looking for a pre-sale

...and yet, that song bores me. It's not even in my top 5 from that album.

There isn't a collaboration with Los Lobos, but Steve Berlin appears on "Polar Nettles" and "Red Tide."

Possibly my favorite LZ song.

All I can say is, thank god the Bears didn't sign him.

Huh. For a second I thought you were kidding. It's the guy in the middle.

I swear the record for online users was once over 200, so, yeah.

No. Not even the Beatles.

Possibly their best song. Really hard to top that one. I picked Exile as a total album (I even love the "clunkers" others have alluded to), but it doesn't have more than one or two of my favorite Stones songs on it. It's just such a great album from start to finish -- sort of their London Calling, in my opinion (or maybe London Calling was The Clash's Exile on Main St.). I also dearly love Let It Bleed, Beggars Banquet, Sticky Fingers, Aftermath, Flowers, and two or three others ... there are times when I start thinking that they really were better than the Beatles -- at their peak, anyway

Just over 30 minutes (31:39).

No huge surprise. The Bears need receivers, but I hope they don't seriously consider T.O. Besides, he'd hate it there -- the offense is way too conservative.
-
Whoa. That sounds cool. I'll have to check it out. Looks like they've got a version for Safari 4, just FYI.
-
Exile, because I can only pick one.

It's pretty standard Crosby ... but I like Crosby. There's a little too much of the hippie atmospherics (Crosby fucking around with his voice and a multitrack recorder), but it's a good listen. You don't like him? I love the guy. He's got the best voice of the four, and has written some amazing tunes. When I saw CSNY a couple years ago, he was a pleasant surprise -- still has every bit of his voice, which I did not expect.
-
OK, I'll give this a listen sometime to see if it changes my opinion of him. I've never been a fan of Nash -- he always seemed like the lightweight in CSNY to me, and I hate most of the songs he contributed to CSN/CSNY albums (e.g., "Teach Your Children," "Our House," "Marrakesh Express," etc.). That said, I recently picked up a copy of the Crosby & Nash album Wind On The Water, and it's pretty good, including (most of) Nash's songs. So, I'll give the guy a chance.

So I downloaded the Safari 4 beta (for Windows), and it's got some nice features. I'm still not going to switch from Firefox, but I like the way the new Safari deals with tabs (especially the way you can drag them out into their own windows), and the "top sites" feature is spiffy, though I doubt I'd use it all that much. Some of my complaints with Safari 3 are still in effect, such as the search box, which limits you to Google and Yahoo. If nothing else, this version suggests that they've thrown some effort into Safari development lately, so I'll keep an eye on it -- but I remain a Firef
