If you let something like this ruin a concert for you, maybe you should stop going to shows. Or start going to them alone. I love going to shows with friends because it's a shared experience that we can talk about later, but during the actual show it's too loud for me to hear what anyone near me is saying, so I seriously don't give a fuck whether they're next to me or down in front throwing undergarments on the stage.

The expectations he'd face if he went to Chicago would be pretty intense, too. That town is starved for an even halfway decent quarterback.

I wouldn't mind if the Bears hired Shanahan and Jeremy Bates, too.

Huh. I didn't know they'd played there twice. I definitely saw the Chamber Strings open, so it was a different show, and a good one. That sucks that the one you saw didn't measure up. I also saw Joe and Peyton Pinkerton at the Blind Pig playing as a duo -- they opened for Neko on the night I became obsessed with her. -
I guess I wouldn't mind if he wound up with the Bears. Though I don't see him becoming a superstar, he'd be a definite upgrade over their current QBs. Seems to have a bit of an attitude issue, though.

Where'd you see them? I'm a huge fan of theirs, and the one time I saw them play as a full band, I thought they were great. It was at the Blind Pig, and The Chamber Strings were the opener. I'm just curious as to whether you saw the same show and had a vastly different reaction. -
I'm hoping for first round! Oh, and I'm in.

I'm going to go out on a limb and say there's no way they'll have eight. Honestly, I'll be surprised if they have seven, but the talking heads all seem to think that's going to happen. All these people seem to have handed the Wolverines a spot already, but I'm not convinced -- especially with everything that's been happening in the conference tournaments across the nation.

I figured I'd start this thread for general tech-support kind of stuff, but of course it's been prompted by a specific issue I'm having with my home computer. I have a Dell XPS something-or-other desktop PC with a sound system that features a subwoofer, center speaker attached to the monitor, and front and rear left/right speakers. The center speaker has a volume control knob, and there is also a remote sensor (separate unit) that picks up signals from a remote control, which can also be used to adjust the volume. Sometime recently, my speakers began making really annoying popping sounds,

You may find a few suggestions here. I too am interested in hearing opinions about the City Pass/Go-Card.

Not having ever visited it regularly, I am unqualified to judge. Or rather, I recuse myself. -

So ... has anyone bothered to check recently? Site's back up. They probably just forgot to renew their domain registration, and as soon as they realized it, they took care of it. It's funny how a temporary lapse can stir up this kind of conversation, though. -

I wonder if he could still do this in the U.S. Probably, I guess. When I lived in London (1988) he was absurdly popular there. He was in town at one point, and as I was out walking I came upon a huge crowd of people in the street. I asked someone what was going on and she said that they were expecting Michael Jackson to emerge from the building across the street at any moment. So, I hung around for a few minutes. Then in a flash, he was out the door and into a vehicle. I saw him for what was probably less than a second. ...and that was enough. I have enormous respect for the Thriller alb

Six overtimes. Damn. I'm glad I didn't watch that. I mean, it sounds exciting as hell, but I sorely needed the little sleep I got last night.

Yeah, I never bothered using anything but my actual name. I moved around a lot, though, so my address usually changed between subscriptions.

My mind is open. It's yours that isn't. Otherwise you wouldn't be pushing this paranoid crap. Do you think all this conspiracy hooey wasn't equally directed at the previous four or five administrations (at least) -- Republican and Democrat? This stuff is for nutcases. There's always someone out there with an agenda who wants to stir the pot, and there's always an audience for it out on the fringes. I'm not saying that Obama's the squeaky-clean savior that many people seem to think he is. But do some digging on Bush (pick one) and you'll find claims that are equally frightening. Most, if no
