  1. Huh? I'm completely baffled. Trying for attention? From whom?? What a tremendous laugh I got out of that. I'msimply reporting on what I experienced.Tone deaf? From Wikipedia: "Tone deafness is the lack of relative pitch, the ability to discriminate between musical notes. Being tone deaf is having difficulty or being unable to correctly hear relative differences between notes..." My problem with the sound was the incredibly muddiness of the mix. I won't reveal more than to say I've been in the music business for a lot of years, and know shitty sound when I hear it. When the sound tech admi
  2. Shit. Having seen 8 or 9 shows...sound-wise, this was the very worst ever...I was so bummed, I thought the sound TOTALLY SUCKED!!! I kept moving around, lawn, shed, left. right...nothing helped. I asked the sound tech what he thought..he said "I'm really struggling here...", so I knew it wasn't just me. 8. Hello All! So yesterday's New York Times Arts section ran an article about Woody's revival in the form of some found live recordings, etc...and had THIS to say: "Mr. Bragg and Wilco will perform together for the first time in seven years on Oct. 17th at Webster Hall in New York, at a benefit show to combat Huntington's disease..." I see Wilco is playin' Detroit that night...and no word of this anywhere on the internet that I've found...anyone know anything more? Thanks! Karen ps the article is called: Dead 40 Years, Woody Guthrie Stays Busy - Sunday Sept 2nd 2007 New York Times by G
  9. okay...I was front row...right in front of Nels...never dreamed I'd get to stand there! Two nights later, for Dylan (!!!) I walked up to the stage before the show just to see if my footprints in the grass were there...two little footprints of dirt...where the grass had all been stomped away...yes...it wasn't a dream after all but several hours of bliss...fantastic show!!! Nels DID go away to another world, I could see his eyes half-close...I most enjoyed watching him play with all the electronics, it was like watching an artist paint a picture...way way cool. 15. Man...those huge bouncer-type dudes REALLY REALLY bummed me out. I was in the 6th row and they kept threatening to throw me and my friend out for dancing. They were REALLY mean and obnoxious and thought they were oh so special. We had a MUCH better time in Asheville at the October show there. So even though I thought the Portland show was great...I don't think I'll be going back to the Merrill Aud. anytime soon. Man...those huge bouncer-type dudes REALLY REALLY bummed me out.
