so many songs could go into this list...today though I heard "The End" by Alejandro Escovedo for the first time in a while and it moved me pretty hard. "why do all hearts break instead of bend" is such a great line
-
I rewatched the episode with this scene in it the other day and had forgotten about it. I laughed so hard, what a great scene and of course their police work is damn good as well
-
nice little interview. I love this line: "the world probably doesn’t need any more songs, but I need more songs" thats definitely how I feel most of the time EDIT: uncool2pillow and posted at the same time. seems to be a popular quote

thank you that was excellent "elmo wants this tape"

How about concerts you had tickets for but never saw?
tapmyglass replied to John Smith's topic in Someone Else's Song
I think the only time this happened to me was a couple years ago. I had tickets to see Joanna Newsom in Milwaukee, I had planned it all out because I was out of town right before the show and was going to be able to fly in and go right to the show, but of course my flight got delayed and I think I landed in Milwaukee right as she was doing her encore. -
I can't say anything about the legality of singing other people songs. But I would imagine Tweedy never plays those songs because they are not "his". With the Uncle Tupelo songs, the ones that he doesn't sing, he probably didn't write or really have much to do with the initial creation of the song. The impression that I get is Jeff wrote his songs and Jay wrote his songs and there was a clear divide between the two song writers. As far as Mermaid avenue stuff, I think the same thing goes. He probably doesn't feel connected to those songs that Bragg sings on because he didn't have as big a part

Spinal Tap - Unwigged & Unplugged Tour...

all I know is I am really excited to hear the acoustic versions of "Big Bottoms" and "Hell Hole" -
I think that you're right nodep, Evil Urges is a complete mess but also really great. It seems like a really incredible band stretching out and trying out a bunch of styles that they have always wanted to play. They are just having fun making music and I could never fault someone for that. just wanted to add that this is in fact one of the coolest things ever and they just nail this song

NP: really loudly and its making me feel great

yep. tried to buy tickets today, got offered some in the back row of the third balcony the first time I logged on. I tried again to get different tickets and by then there were none left. Guess I am waiting until tomorrow when they go on sale to the public

I had them all but I couldn't spell a certain adopted childs name for the life of me

Vampire Hands- Me and You Cherry Red has anyone around listened to these guts much before? This album is great. They are local to the twin cities and get lots of love there, but I don't know how nationally they are known. Check it out if you get the chance

Man I wish this show was coming to milwaukee. I've seen him with the BBQ show, which was rocking and great. But I really like the songs that he plays with the Shrines so I'd love to see them play some time
