  1. Hi all,

Don't bother messing with your DVD.

The audio recording from the video is available from the official site since the release date.

    Go to http://ashesofamericanmovie.com/site/

It says "Free audio download of all tracks with purchase of DVD".

You just need to insert the DVD into your computer then follow the instructions.

There was a thread about it, though I can't seem find it.

Oh, and the sound quality of the audio files is absolutely fantastic.

  2. Looks like a pretty nice main set, Sam! Glad you had a good time. Hope you didn't have any problem with that ticket.

    Hey Paul !

    I had a great time indeed !

The band seemed genuinely happy to be here , big smiles during/between songs.

Though Jeff hasn't been very talkative, but I think the main reason is because of the 10:30 curfew.

Less talk would allow them to play as much tunes as they play elsewhere. They also play one long encore instead of

the regular two which saved some time for a few more songs.

Jeff asked why in the world would the Belgians vote themselves the most boring people?

Don't know where he got this info from, obviously that's wrong :lol

He complimented the excellent health care system, as Mike and John had to use it (eyeball and throat problems respectively).

(Jeff joked that Mike's eyeball went straight through John's throat)

He teased a guy about holding 2 drinks the entire concert, and got us all to sing along to "Jesus, etc."

He said we did the best of any"second language" crowd, :rock !

Looking forward to the show in Eindhoven.

To those interested, the show was taped. But the taper arrived late and is missing the first 5 songs.

Anyway it will be "torrented" very soon (maybe later today).

Oh, and Evengelista was great too.

  4. I really don't think any of us are "Phish dudes."

Phish and Wilco both seem to stand for music, community, fun and art, making good records and having fun at shows. People who label them as jam-band or not (yourself included) seem more interested in applying stereotypes and expectations than they ever have.

It's okay if you don't like Phish (lord knows I don't), but calling their fans soul-less numb nuts is kind of, uh...numb-nutty.

    Amen to that :peace

  5. no bootlegs turned up at all yet?

Sorry to disappoint you guys, but there won't be any recording of this show.

The obvious reason is that I was at the show and whenever I attend a Wilco/Tweedy gig NO recording ever shows up.

(Well, Paris 2005 exists but the sound is pretty bad)

    :pirate

  6. Those are some gorgeous shots! :yes what kind of camera are you using?

    Canon G10.

Although quite a lot of my pictures were rubbish (blurred) due to :

    - the lighting system was quite unusual. No front light, only from the ceiling. The band was mainly in the shade. Tough for the camera, even at high iso.

    - it's nearly impossible to shoot a sharp picture of Nels (with a compact/bridge camera), he's always moving/shaking like he's got fleas running under his shirt :P.

  7. Just so there's no confusion, since a couple songs were cut off from the above photo of the setlist, this was the complete set as played:

Hey Paul, yet 2 more great shows. Lucky man.

Did you take the photography duty back ?

I'll post my pictures from London soon (I even might post them on Flickr).

  8. If Im correct they dedicated 'heavy metal drummer' to Them Crooked Vultures :-)

Not really, Jeff dedicated the song to the band coming up next pretending he doesn't know who they are.

Heavy Metal Drummer...Dave Grohl...:yes nice hint Jeff.

  9. Here goes the setlist :

    Wilco (The Song)

I Am Trying To Break Your Heart

  10. The Ancienne Belgique is a great place to see a concert. Lots of bands record their live cd over there because of the good accoustics. And there are still tickets and not that expensive (27€). Furthermore the concert hall is right in the middle of the centre. http://www.abconcert...ilco-06-11-2009

I totally concur with JorgyBrussels and not only because I live in Brussels too :whoo .

The Ancienne Belgique is well known for its great acoustic and indeed plenty of bands record their live album over there (check out Calexico's new live album "Ancienne Belgique, Live In Brussels 2008").

People are usually well behaved and respectful at gigs.

It's right in the city centre and a 2 minutes walk from the "Grand Place".

    My Wilco tour schedule :

    Hasselt, BE Pukkelpop Aug-20

    London, GB Troxy Aug-25

    Brussels, BE Ancienne Belgique Nov-06

    Eindhoven, NL Effenar Nov-17

  11. That could only be wishful thinking but wouldn't it be awesome to see Wilco play the Madison Square Garden on New Year's Eve 2010 ?

They did it in 2004 (w/ The Flaming Lips), My Morning Jacket in 2009, so why not Wilco for NYE 2010 ?

I'd definitely fly to NY for that show.

(Granted that I'll turn 40 next January that'd be a hell of a Birthday for me)

    Sam

  12. Have they ever hit Europe three different times in a single year? That has to be a first.

Yes, they did it last tour (2007) and the tour calendar was pretty similar to the one of this year.

    European tour :

May/June, right after the album is released.

    July, European outdoor festivals.

    November.

    Sam
