  1. Will this tour ever end? (HOPE NOT - but I've run out of money and holiday time!!!)

    Good question indeed.

Well, I checked on Wilcobase and here are the statistics for the Ghost Is Born and Sky Blue Sky tours so far :

    Ghost Is Born tour : May 19 2004 --> November 25 2006 = 30 months

    Sky Blue Sky tour (so far) : April 16 2007 --> November 15 = 7 months

Personnaly I'd vote for a shorter tour this time and a new album out next year.

  2. Any complaints/comments about this one?

Well, it's only a reader's poll and I tend to think that people firstly rank their favorite band instead of a more objective

point of view, if that ever existed, of which one truly is a great live act. (Damn, Radiohead and the RHCP are so reader's clich

  3. A Dour Festival...get it? Haha. :lol (In English, "dour" means sullen or gloomy, so I was imagining everyone there frowning a lot.)

:lol Haha, I get it...! Though the pun does not really reflect people's mood at this festival which is rather like :cheers , :music , :rock , :D or :monkey !

Now you have to make it to a Wilco show in the U.S.! :rock

Now that would be awesome indeed :thumbup

    See you.

  4. Very nice photos, Samuel! Hope you had a good time at the festival, and I'm glad that you Belgians got to see Wilco twice in your country in three months. (Is Dour the name of the town where the festival was?)

    Hey Paul !

I indeed managed to take a few pretty nice pictures from the front row.

Laurence even asked me whether you'd be there, as usual, close to the security fence, right in front of Nels. :D

We had a real good time at the festival and seeing Wilco for the third time within 2 months is more than I ever hoped for.

I had the chance to see Midlake play before Wilco and they were brilliant too.

(You're right; Dour is the name of the town where the festival takes place. This will improve your knowledge of Belgian geography, which

always comes pretty handy, doesn't it... :lol )

    Cheers,

Wilco is headlining on the last day of the 4 day long festival.

Great show, band in great mood, great weather.

Not a lot of banter from Jeff, but as he says that'll allow them to play more, which is a good point.

The setlist is tailored for festivals, a lot of electric guitar, Glen sweating more then ever. YHF era is dominant.

I'm not sure there were a lot of fans around. I just noticed a few right at the front wearing some SBS tour t-shirt

they most likely bought at the Gent show last may.

However, looking back at the crowd from behind me, it looked pretty impressive and I'm sure the band attracted

a lot of curious people and kept their interest until the end of the show.

I'll post a few pitures from the show later on.

    Cheers.

    :lol

I've played this song about the whole morning at work. Can't wait to play it another trillion times on the hifi at home.

By the way, the production is really great. You really feel like they're playing in front of you in the same room. Brilliant.

  8. I'm not any good at the BT dL thing.....can some one help with a snail mail trade???.....

    -Robert

Hey, no need for any BT knowledge here.

Owl gracefully offers an alternative by hosting the show on his own website. http://www.owlandbear.com/2007/05/22/hoste...bruary-24-2007/

As well as feeding us with some great quality live music, he also is a great photographer, check out his superb pictures at http://www.loperco.com

  10. Are Wilco big in Belgium?

    any Belgian fans here?

Yep, there's one belgian fan here.....me.

Wilco is indeed BIG in Belgium....well, especially in my flat... :)

They initially planned to play the King Baudouin Stadium in Brussels (50,000 capacity), but Jeff thought it wouldn't suit much for the unamplified version of "Acuff Rose".

So the Vooruit in Gent will be just fine instead.

    Samuel

  11. Hey Samuel, I e-mailed them as well, and they confirmed me that tickets would go on sale by March 14th...

Ha :D ! They anwered me quick as well, same info, March 14th most likely.

I absolutely have no idea how many belgian fan there's around here.

I'm curious to see whether this date will be sold out or not (as long as I've got my tickets that is :D )

    Samuel

  12. OMG! :blink Gent, here I come!

Toolish, I just checked the Vooruit website, no trace of Wilco...yet.

Well, I registered to their mailing list, to the RSS feed and sent a message for more info :-)

(Hope they'll not go on sale before a week or so, as I'll be away from Belgium for 8 days.)

    Samuel
