  1. made the 6 hour jouney for yo la tengo and lambchop at the bijou theater. it may have been the greatest concert experience i've had. the little theater has great sound. anyone headed to tweedy tonight should be in for a treat. anyways, lambchop stuck mostly to newer songs and i'm not the biggest fan of their last few efforts but they were stunning live. then yo la rocked it, second song was i am goodkind and i think it was longer than even the lp version. they had members of lambchop throughout the night nicely filling out the songs sonically. there was a moment during the story of yo la te
  2. i figured you must be in north carolina until i got to the end of your post.
  3. what's a "saves the day?" sounds like a bible thumpin' band with that name. kids these days...
  4. they played a song or two from this on world cafe a while back. i thought david dye said it was the plasmatics. needless to say i was confused.
  5. second vote for "reservations"
  6. trust noone , except maybe your mom.
  7. gotta say i like it too. funny thing is i bought the band of horses cd yesterday too. boy it sounds really bright and tinny. had to futz with the treble and bass controls on the way to work. their engineers must have high freq hearing loss. as the jayhawks are "no more" i think the cd gives me a good louris fix for a whiles with a few tweedy nuggets to hold me over till the solo dvd comes out. don't really care for the davies cover song and a few others are blah but i really like 5-22-02, hurricane, and a few others.
  8. they were and i forgot to ask them. talked to nels about seeing him at tonic in nyc last year and was really trying to see if there might be a surprise gig around town tonight. we did talk about a john fahey tribute cd i was picking up. he's playing on another one that comes out later. btw, that john fahey tribute cd is awesome. if you're a fan of loose fur or o'rourke's later stuff it's right down your alley. sufjan, lee rinaldo and calexico are just a few of the artists on it.
  9. the free version of audion just encoded a portion of the file and it's taken me 2 hours of screwin around to figure out what was going on. the other option mentioned above was a dead download, on cnet surprisingly. on a more upbeat note, i ran into nels and glenn cd shopping today in charleston. didn't talk to glenn but nels is just about the nicest rock god. tried to persuade him to do a solo show tonight without luck.
  10. thanks for the download. anyone know how i can convert these wma files on a mac. my xact and roxio software won't do it. just wanna put it on a cd for safekeeping.
