Over 17 hours of driving and I'm home today. We had a great time at Solid Sound. I agree that the festival felt near to capacity Friday night and during the day on Saturday. The field was underutilized and if they have increasing numbers they need to reexamine it, as I really can't imagine 3000 more people at Mass MOCA on Saturday afternoon. Sunday was an absolute blast for me.

Fun day till we got lost trying to drive back to the hotel. Made it back on an alternate route. Downtown at night leaving south was sure difficult.

While the Hunter was too small, I thought night 1 was good.

Getting ready to pack the car for the drive up. We're full up as it's a two seater or I'd offer rides. We're taking the Blue Ridge Parkway and some other back roads to make it a sight seeing tour going there. Hope everyone has a safe journey. See ya there.

did you try this Zipcar thingee they talk about? http://solidsoundfestival.com/hotels-lodging/transportation-parking Actually got a chance to look more at that and it ain't that cheap, sorry.

I just spent 10 min looking for such a thing but never found it. I did find their standard gallery map, though: http://www.massmoca.org/pdf/gallery_map.pdf Thanks for posting the solidsound map, I just printed it out.

Like that Nels and Glenn are going to demo their installations.

The sound was way too boomy in Savannah, and I've read that from others as well who were in different parts of the auditorium. We were pretty far back, too, which after having some great seats at other shows is kind of a bummer. Plus in the back you get a few more folks who aren't that into the band and gab a lot more. Then there's the guy in front of us who wouldn't stop trying to video despite repeatedly being shut down by security. I opted to get tore up drunk as the mixed drinks were fairly cheap and strong. The band was good but Nels seemed to be having his back pain flare up. I'm happy

I saw him in Edinburgh in the 80's. It was at a dance club of all places. I remember dancing to Level 42 after the show. He was great.

Drunken Unicorn reminds me of Philly's Khyber Pass if that means anything to you. Although, It's in a basement of a hotel that no longer exists, just the basement complex which has a dance club and the Drunken Unicorn. Super loud sound system. I bet this show sells out quickly.

That could be awesome. Maybe y'all could wander through town as a tiny-Wilco mariachi band with the Total Pro kazoos.

Be sure to carry your harmonica along just in case. Never know when someone will request "Jodel."

This is pathetic. I know ya gotta pay for the Bentley but wouldn't adding an extra night in Milwaukee suffice? http://online.wsj.com/article/SB123672740386088613.html?mod=googlenews_wsj

I liked the movie a lot but hated the fact that it is louder than A Place To Bury Strangers concert. Consider bringing earplugs, seriously. The action scenes near the end go on too long for me, would be my biggest quibble. Their tedium was exacerbated by how freakin' loud they were. The movie gets you thinking in a lot of directions, though. I look forward to seeing it again on DVD or maybe I'll even have a Blu-ray player by then.

I didn't like the framing on the hotdog, if they had gotten the entire hotdog in the picture I would've liked it better.

I was just checking those out. I like the frontrunner, the sparklers spelling Wilco.

Glad to see I'm not the only one who thinks that. any chance you'll get on stage?

Great. We gotta get together. We're gonna be in Pittsfield about 20 miles south, though.
