I recently started flying frequently for work (after not flying for ~10 yrs) and here are some tips I have found: -- Your chances of losing bags go up exponetially for every time you change flights, and way less if flying direct. So, if you check a bag, make sure you can get by with whatever you have in your carry on -- I think you are allowed to check 2 bags, neither over 50 pounds or you have to pay. I just went on a long trip, 54lb. bag, 3lbs over -- $25, so watch it. -- You can carry a bag on, but it must go in the bin above the seats or under the seat in front of you. Your airline's

It was...I'm not claustrophobic either, but I got a little scared when I couldn't get the roof hatch open. Then I really felt trapped.

ALTWYS has a great solo as does Hell is Chrome.

Seems like something that they should check.

I thougt about this topic last night and came up with some ideas.... I think most are in agreeance that Jeff's (Wilco's) music has greatly evolved since its (their) start. If I were to take a guess, I'd say that on A.M. and Being There, most of the writing "happened" and wasn't "arranged" as much as I feel the new(er) material is. I think the musical complexities of AGIB and SBS lend a hand to what a knowledge of music theory can bring to the table. Even in looking at YHF, the songs were rather simple with (a lot of) ambient noise and layered sound -- but not as musically complex as AGIB and

I got in the elevator this morning, like every morning and pressed the button to go to the top floor. About 15 seconds into the ride, the lights went out and the elevator stopped. It was pitch-black and it got hot really quick. Nothing in the elevator worked -- nothing. I was alone and in the past my cell phone has not worked in there, so I was a bit nervous. I tried to push the door open, but it would only open about an inch, nor could I get the hatch open in the roof. So I actually got kind of scared -- if there was a fire, I would be toast. After a couple minutes, the lights came on and I w

Amen, Cryptique. Your points in this thread have been great. Personally, I feel the technical music-theory based songwriting vs. natural ability is akin to Einstein (supposedly) failing high school math. I've played with some great musicians who didn't know a lick of theory and conversely, have played with theorists who lack any creativity.

I think (maybe) it was a custom built one that his wife had made for him. (???)

I thought I read in some magazine that one of the factors in Nels' joining Wilco was that he would/could/and does play exactly what Jeff played in the studio. Which, in my opinion, is fucking amazing to be able to isolate what someone is doing and replicate their sound with such precision.

Where is SBS this week on the Billboard charts?

I'll take VW over those companies any day. Or a Mac commerical -
I have only played my 335 at "live" volume levels once and I had no problem with feedback. Next week is my first practice with a new band and now I am concerned it might be an issue. Isn't the solid center block supposed to prevent such issues? I have a pretty decent strat I could use instead, but c'mon I want to use my Gibson

There was an error in your image tag. You had a "}" instead of a "]" at the end.

Seems kinda odd. Oh well.

Someone explain the difference between a Ryan Adams album and one with Ryan Adams and the Cardinals. Were the Cards not the backing band on Easy Tiger? Am I missing something?

I think the whole thing is totally repulsive. Football star or not, what he was responsible for doing to those dogs is fucking disgusting. I hope he doesn't play anymore.
