I'm a total fan. I have 5 of them in the little compartment in my guitar case. Sure makes that thing heavy!

How much you talkin'? I really wan't those Barden's for my tele/strat hybrid but each one is around $200.00.
I think they were something like $270 for the set. They sound awesome, but I think there starts to be a diminishing value on your return after a certain point.....but then again....
I have always heard great things about Curtis Novak pickups also.

terrific!
i was at the greek theatre buying tix on saturday morning. told everyone in line about the party!
Rock on!! I can't believe tickets are available already. I just moved here, so my credit card billing address is still out of state. I'll visit the box office instead of ol' ticketmaster.com.

I like it. A lot.
Yep. He really doesn't put out much duddy stuff in my book.

and the numbers

On a weekly basis, one of my job duties is to fill up both company vehicles with gas. I've learned that the fuel pump won't let you put more than $75 worth of gas in at a time. Since hitting this limit, I have seen a great decline in the amount of gas $75 purchases.

You love those Kinman's? I've bee looking at the Joe Barden's but they may be a little out of my league as far as money goes. Heard good things on Kinman's.
Yeah, the Kinmans sound pretty good. They were a little pricey, but I was really going for a nice guitar on this one, so I went for them.

PopTodd -- I like you too. I think it's great you promote your music. If you'd been a one-thread-and-leave type guy, then I'd have a problem with you. You're a positive point of this board.
Additionally, you've started some interesting posts about topics other than your music.

I'm thinking a Tele would probably be much easier.
97% of my reasoning on building these guitars. Jazzmasters are really quirky guitars -- I have a factory-built one. I'm not of the experience level to accomplish one yet.

^^^^Wooohooo. I'm in Hollywood, so there's a good chance I might show up.

It was cool to see the numbers appear in the show again. Until seeing them on the odometer in Hurley's flashy new ride, I hadn't heard a thing about them since the days of punching them into the computer in the hatch. For me, the numbers were always one of the most intriguing aspects of the show.
BTW -- I heard that a major character is going to die in the finale. My money is on 1) Desmond 2) Locke 3) Sawyer

I'd love to do this, but I have like zero experience or ability.
Same way I started. You should give it a shot. Reallly, it's not a big deal.

The colors look almost identical in these photos.
I agree -- the pictures really don't do it justice. Really, the one with the humbucker in the neck is far more green that the newer one. I would take a picture with one next to the other, but I recently moved and only have one with me.
Anyway, thank you for the compilments.

^^^ I learned everything from reranch.com/reranch. It's an awesome forum dedicated to guitar refinishing and building.
EDIT: you can build a really nice guitar for $500. It just depends on wood choice, pickups, anything custom -- this one cost me about $1k.

So...I just completed building my second guitar. A couple months back I started a thread where I built a daphne blue telecaster, which was the guitar I "learned" how to build, refinish, etc. with.
Anyway, so I built another guitar...similar in color. This one is sonic blue. Pickups are Kinman. The body is one-piece alder from Warmoth. The neck is custom made by Musikraft -- 1 11/16" nut width, 59 roundback profile, medium jumbo frets and short scale (24 3/4").
Here's a little sound clip from one of my songs, using this guitar.
Here are some pics:

The same person who posted the spoilers for last season did it again this year. I read a bit and then I had to force myself to stop.
Do I dare ask where I can find this....maybe not.....maybe yes....

Also, I didn't really like Evil Urges at first, but this SNL performance has me rolling.
Me too!! All of a sudden I love it!

Those were some fantastic performances. I have got to get out and see these guys live.

Very cool. The variety of musical parts drifts in and out like a tide or a breeze. Something reminds me a bit of Sufjan Stevens, with greater musical complexity. Good work. Are you going to put it out on CD or something?

This album is so so magical. I keep listening to it more and more. It's like it descended from the heavens or something. The texture of his music are just triumphant.

A great read indeed. Very cool. I love reading that kind of stuff. Andrew Bird is one of those musicians whose record I put on and everyone is like, "Why haven't heard of this guy -- he's fabulous."

Try this one. It's a beautiful song and chord shapes sound just amazing when played in that register.

I'm getting an error when I try to download.
EDIT: Got it...downloading now. Not sure what the trouble was before.
