Paterno carted to locker room after sideline collision Associated Press MADISON, Wis. -- Penn State coach Joe Paterno was carted to the locker room after one of his own players ran into his left leg in the second half of the Nittany Lions' game at Wisconsin on Saturday. Freshman tight end Andrew Quarless caught a short pass for a first down along the Penn State sideline, and tumbled into Paterno's leg -- knocking the 79-year-old coach to the ground. Paterno then stood for several minutes before having to be helped to the bench and having his leg bandaged by the Penn State training st

I think he's jealous of all the attention Michael J. Fox is getting. 'Doogie Howser' star comes out -- with pride POSTED: 8:58 a.m. EST, November 4, 2006 LOS ANGELES, California (AP) -- Neil Patrick Harris is gay and wants to quell any rumors to the contrary. "(I) am quite proud to say that I am a very content gay man living my life to the fullest," Harris tells People magazine's Web site. The 33-year-old actor said he was motivated to disclose his sexuality because of recent "speculation and interest in my private life and relationships." Harris stars on the CBS comedy "How I Met Y

I wouldn't mind a "songs only" option. The yacking gets old after a couple viewings.

Question: Why in the F did it take them this long to get around to DNA testing in this case? Has this not been around for 10, 15, 20 years? I said it before and I'll say it again: A comprehensive DNA data base would make catching criminals infinitely more easy and would quickly exonerate the wrongly accused. Or do you want rapists to claim 2 or 3 or 10 more victims before being caught?

5th grade humor alert! I'm always trying to whip it into a big thing.

Possibly on the Bush payroll?

Completely amazing. Catalpa's one of my all-time faves.

Clutchiness?

Yeah, that's right. I've been trying to block that whole election out. I grew up about 15 miles from the Vet, and when the Phils finally won the WS in '80, I was at college in Tulsa. so I know how that goes. My sister said that when McGraw struck out Willie (12-strikeout) Wilson, all my dad could say was a disparaging: "Well, look who they got out!" Listening to Neko right now, a fan of birds and tigers.

Guess this is good news for the Republicans - red over blue. Congrats to the Cards. Tigers, I think you finished the A's a little too quickly for your own good. Nice to see the Senior Circuit getting it done. And that was just the NL's 5th best (sorry, cheap shot). Enjoy!

Can't anyone here play this game?

Admittedly, any system can be abused, and you must weigh the possible risks against the benefits. But just consider that a drop of DNA left at a crime scene would basically equal the guy leaving his name, address, telephone number, place of employment, favorite color, turn ons, turn offs. Would seem to exponentially simplify police work, as well as protect people from being falsely/erroneously accused. I also think that baseball should eliminate the infield fly rule, that basketball teams should have the choice of shooting free throws or getting possession of the ball with a fresh clock, one

School Boots 3 Girls in 'Underpants' By THE ASSOCIATED PRESS Published: October 27, 2006 Filed at 6:52 a.m. ET LONG BEACH, N.Y. (AP) -- Captain Underpants has battled talking toilets and Professor Poopypants, but he was no match for a high school principal who banned students from dressing up as the children's book character. Long Beach High School Principal Nicholas Restivo took the action Wednesday after three 17-year-old girls wore beige leotards and nude stockings under white briefs and red capes on the school's Superhero Day. ''Yes, I know they weren't naked,'' Restivo said. ''Bu

Is there a scumbag next door? I'm also for a mandatory DNA ID database. Consider all the crimes this would instantly solve, or even prevent.

At the risk of sounding like a grumpy old man, what's with all the fan shots and replays? A routine foul ball, grounder, swing and miss do not warrent multiple replays. And six different fan shots before a pitch might be a bit excessive. Fox seems to be doing its best to prove the best way to witness a baseball game away from the stadium is on radio. Pretty good game, too bad the Tigers appear so inept on the field.

(though yer dad might wanna refrain from headbanging for a couple weeks, maybe.)

I thought it was gonna be Neko Case singing the NatAnthem, not Nikko Smith and His Amazing Vocal Gymnastics (As Seen On American Idol!). That Nina was hott, but is cool.

Do they really, really, really need 30 minutes of pregame? Come on, it's baseball - not like there's no down time for analysis between the 220-250 pitches. 5-10 minutes of pregame, tops, then the game might end at a halfway decent hour.

Christ! I spent the last 18 years trying to FORGET THAT SONG!

Does that make me a bad fan? Especially considering I own a bunch of Wilco boots. And I used to record shows. Frankly, I'm afraid I'll listen once, say "that's nice" and never listen again. Also, I never bought the Loose Fur CDs - actually, I might have the 1st one, I can't remember.

Yesterday, I bought the Tweedy DVD and the Flaming Lips 5.1 DVD version of At War With The Mystics. The Lips DVD features a naked girl dancing to EVERY track. I'm just sayin' . . .
