has anyone else played the new 80's trivial pursuit? Sat through about a 5 hour game on Sat. night with much-too-enebriated participants (on second thought, we may have been spot-on in that regard), but it was still fairly entertaining. The music and tv questions bring back a lot of not-so-worthwhile memories and quite a few flashbacks...

some additional random comments on the show: Opening with "hell is chrome" was outstanding. The last two shows I caught (houston & fayetteville) they opened with "At Least That's What You Said," which certainly begins things with a bang, but there's something so perfect about "hell is chrome" that seemed to grab everyone's attention, despite the rather subdued tone to the tune. The ending chorus kind of got everyone on board for what was to come... "Impossible Germany" was fantastic. just got back from the san antonio wilco roadtrip. There's just not much to say that adequately expresses what seeing this band does for me. Thank you to all the guys for letting me get to experience that high yet again.

Jeff looked happy. He was impressed by how many of the audience were singing along. There were several moments when I looked from side to side and saw so many people smiling. We met some wonderful fans tonight. It just reaffirmed the pledge I made awhile back that I will move heaven and earth (and my bosses) to see wilco when at all possible. Her son died April 4, 2004, the meeting was June 24, 2004 if I'm not mistaken. If I were famous, I doubt I'd need to. Perhaps Ms. Sheehan isn't satisfied with her current "famous" standing, and felt she could use a bounce, as they say... It is one thing to change one's mind about a belief or stance. It is an entirely other thing to recharacterize a meeting a year later because one's voice has been given the media's loudspeaker. for the posters who have commented on the "big deal"-ness of Sheehan being nominated, I just thought it was interesting that SHE was the one who announced that she's a "finalist." In other words, in addition to her other fine qualities, add humility.
