  1. I may be "obessed," but I ain't spanking your cockroach.
  2. I was spanked as a promised/threatened course of last resort, so I knew it was coming. I think it was effective to the extent that the thought of my parents being so fed up with me that they'd result to restrained violence made me get in line. (Unless it was a once in a lifetime opportunity to be a smart ass, in which case sometimes I'd just accept the spanking as a cost of doing business).
  3. my anticipation has progressed from the itchy to the can't-get-work-done-from-excitement stage...
  4. it is annoying when people draft lengthy emails in tiny fonts.
  5. Wifey and I don't have any kids yet, but are planning to create in our own images at some point in the future. I was listening to a radio show yesterday, the topic of which was corporal punishment, and I was just wondering what you VC parents out there thought about the whole thing. Do you spank? as a tangent, is there a country with less-disciplined children than the United States?
  6. that is a very good point. but what if it were not a cockroach after all? hmmm?
  7. you were entirely clear. I was just starting to have some flashbacks and upon further and current reflection, I'm thinking, "maybe there were ghosts involved." The part about the bedroom curtain though reminded me of some in explicable movements of inanimate objects in the past, which may or may not have been influenced by entirely terrestrial factors... I obviously have some issues to work through...
  8. maybe I should enlist the help of PETA: Cockroach eating contest bugs animal group
  9. just so I'm clear before making an offering, are these ghost stories or "my run in with hallucinogens" stories?
  10. I'm at work so can't be certain, but isn't this simply capoing the 2nd fret, and playing A Em D7 (pull off the high B string from 1st fret to 0) If that doesn't get you close, let me know and I'll tab it later... --N
  11. any good at wife-listening? (there's bonus potential riding on your answer)
  12. the thing is, we really don't have many of them. I don't think I've seen one in the apartment in ages. I just know that wherever I am, when I encounter one of these little bugs, I seem to react as though a giant bear were loose from the zoo...
  13. I am 34 years old. I grew up in Houston, Texas. One doing so will inevitably encounter cockroaches. Here's a pic for those of you who are fortunate enough not to have to deal with these stealthy and determined survivors: When I was young I was taught to hunt and fish, and in doing so I encountered many kinds of what we would refer to as "critters," ranging from harmless sorts such as worms, lizards, grasshoppers, doodlebugs and mantises, to the creepier sorts (at least to a child) such as scorpions, snakes and tarantulas. I've handled snakes and spiders and worms, and other little on
  14. I'm disappointed in me too. I have been since the last beer last night, which to my surprise the coffee I'm drinking is not addressing adquately or expeditiously. but rest assured, butterfly, that I'm going to keep trying. As soon as I locate the firm's pepto-bismal stash.
