  1. I'm back up to ten -- same rules apply.
  2. Agreed... would love to see these on btree.
  3. ction, jnickerson needs the Q... AGAIN.
  4. Wilco in Paris.... It would be wonderful to see my favorite band in my favorite city. Next time....
  5. Try the VW commercial first. Sorry I couldn't resist. All the stuff is great -- I am a huge fan of the live stuff -- grab the Nov 2006 Chicago shows. The taping is fantastic.
  6. jnickerson -- I want to thank you for bringing together the fat.boy. and the analogman. It was worth 19 20 pages of hell. And no response to my posts about toyoda's WWII history or what marketing is? Interesting.
  7. "Oh, that's for CDs? I thought it was a cupholder."
  8. Wow. Just wow. I saw that jnickerson has a Toyota Echo. Nice car. Note EB online: Don't you suppose that some of those engines were used in planes/trains/automobiles that transported the Japanese on their way to killing people -- and also transported their slave laborers (chinese and other asians, not to mention POWs? I know for a fact that the Toyoda family is still involved (Shoichiro Toyoda is the honorary chairman). I'm also sure that the Echo that you liked had the features/function/price/location that made it possible, even desirable, for you to buy it. That "feature/function"
  9. I will not dignify your post with a reply.
  10. Then don't listen to it What is "rich" in your mind?
  11. I am disowning you -- you are no daughter of mine.
  12. The members of Wilco are "music artists" whose art we just happen to be able to obtain and see live -- and pay for. They are same kind of "artists" that I am. I am a "marketing artist" (product management) and my "art" earns me money -- every other week I get my paycheck and I pay for my family to have a decent place to live and food on the table. I am a happy "sell out", as is every one of the posters in this thread that have a job. Oh, and my husband is a musician, and he gets money for his art -- and we run his paychecks to the bank, just like mine.
  13. My theory is that these high prices were decided back in early 2001 when Cheney had his energy pow wow -- they said OK, we'll wait till Bush is a lame duck and we'll rape the hell out of the collective American pocket book. Sadly, I'm only half joking.
  14. Me neither -- I just noticed it was that high.... and I had that very same thought about bikes on the tollway!
  15. Close to $50 to fill my Honda Accord -- and Kate, it's definitely over $4 for premium here in the city. I buy gas on the tollway -- one day a couple weeks ago, it went up $.15 in one day.
  16. Are you their accountant? The economics of this are not transparent to me, but I have an idea of a few of the things that they pay for out of what they make, both in the studio and on the road: management company PR firm studio space (that sits idle when they are not there -- which is a lot of the time) music, amps, lighting equipment, including the road cases and storage transportation for equipment techs and roadies web site hosting and coding thereof insurance travel expenses for the group + support people accounting service to keep track of it all etc etc then, after everyone else is p
  17. I hope this makes the mortgage a bit easier to pay, not to mention private school. Good for him/them.
  18. Add Ashes and you've got a winner.
  19. Happy birthday ms. *la!!
  20. Just what exactly is a "real Yankee"?
  21. Via Chicago followed by PKB? I hope a copy of this turns up!
