  1. Stay tuned for her next book: "More Ranting From a Socialist Wacko"
  2. 1. Band writes and records song 2. Song is enjoyed 3. Song shows up in commercial 4. Song is no longer worthy of enjoyment or somehow "cheapened." I don't get this at all. It's the same song. It begs the question... who is really being influenced by the advertiser? I'd say this commercial had much more influence over the folks who are calling others out for their sheep-like ability to be swayed by advertisers. My opinion of the song and the product are exactly the same today as they were before the commercial. It seems those who think less of the song or the band need to look in a mirro
  3. Simple mistake. Replace "Either Way" with "At Least That's What You Said" and it all makes sense.

  5. The article is mainly about Mike Watt, but there is a link at the bottom to an mp3 with Nels: http://www.pitchforkmedia.com/page/news/42...-go-teams-kaori
  6. I believe that is correct. George Martin scored some new string stuff for a track or two, but I think that's all he did. And I was skeptical of that project until I heard it... it's great.
  7. 10 (or so) that haven't been mentioned: PJ Harvey - Dry The Smiths - s/t or Morrissey - Viva Hate (take your pick) Smashing Pumpkins - Gish Tori Amos - Little Earthquakes Kiss - s/t Landon Pigg - LP The Twilight Singers - Twilight as played by the TS Frank Black and the Catholics - s/t The Wonder Stuff - 8 legged groove machine 311 - Music Blind Melon - s/t
  8. First show... Indy 7/19/02. 12 more shows since then (10 different cities and 12 different venues). Best show... The Vic 5/7/05. In line all day, band comes out to hob-knob, front row, no opener, ridiculously long set, getting Tweedy's guitar, after show party, my picture in Kicking Television CD booklet and Q Mag article... will be tough to beat. Next show... Indy 6/15/07
  9. That dancing smiley is perfectly in sync with spiders
  10. My two favorite bands are Wilco and The Tragically Hip. You should go. There are few bands out there who are in the same ball park when it comes to a live show.

There is a small "front balcony" that is a little lower. Then an aisle. Then raised up a little bit is the main balcony. You're in the second row of the main balcony. I'd rate your seats as "pretty good" and I'm probably pickier than most about seats.
  12. I liked the crowd. I thought they were appropriately quiet during the quiet parts and loud when cheering or prompted (KingPin). I don't know if I've ever heard the quiet details of At Least That's What You Said without having to try to filter out a ton of chatter. Last night, you could tell the audience was listening instead of yapping.
