  1. Is this supposed to be on the Roadcase page? 'Cos I got nothin'...no Quicktime, no additional link, nada. Shall we put our hands in the air and hit refresh like we just don't care?
  2. We've got this young man covered from all angles.
  3. The Grand Opera is so small that the Box Office took my contact info this afternoon with the promise to call if any tickets became available...and they actually called and offered a SRO ticket at about 5:50p. I know I've never gotten that kind of service from TM. Pot Kettle Black, Theologians, and Late Greats were all very pleasing. Glenn tossed in some new fills to keep Spiders interesting. No new songs...bummer.
  4. Jimmy Page had dragons. Jeff Tweedy has a kitty.
  5. PM sent, if I should be so lucky.
  6. I'm guessing you received the same email from wilcotickets at the time of purchase that I did. It includes the following statement: "Tickets will be shipped at least 10 business days (approximately 2 weeks) before the event date. If you have not received your tickets within 1 week of the event, please email tix@musictoday.com immediately." Relax for a few more days, then worry.
  7. Exactly! C'mon Wilcoworld, go ahead and add what the people want. Consider this: The Mermaid Avenue songs that Billy Bragg had lead-duties on are also on the request list. I guess we can all request Jeff to sing Eisler on the Go or The Unwelcome Guest now.
  8. Errr, wouldn't it be easier to request Let's Not Get Carried Away? And, dang it, why couldn't they include Laminated Cat/Not For The Season on the list?!? Louisville demands it.
  9. I didn't even know that existed. At least we can see why they stopped making videos.
  10. There was a single poster for the NY-area shows that included the dates for Red Bank, Hammerstein, and Warsaw dates. The background is an old-timey portrait photograph of a man sitting with a hat in his lap. Can't see the face because there are multi-colored lines going through the middle and curling out to the sides. Perhaps they sold out and will include a second run in the online store?
  11. LP delivered by UPS today. The gatefold is freakin' sweet. Also, the CD-version included with the LP comes in a reasonably sturdy cardboard sleeve that is a reproduction of the SBS cover. Thank you UPS. And thank you work schedule for allowing me to be home today.
  12. Agreed. In the recent live performances Nels gets the shredding (good rule of thumb: 32nd notes = Nels' wheelhouse) and Jeff and Pat have fun with the harmonized counter-melody. You can hear a 3rd harmony guitar on the studio version...it may either be an overdub (and could have been done by any member) or may be a stereo feed of Jeff or Pat with a (very) slight delay.
  13. Nice thread. The Bird and The Bee. "Again and Again" Againandagainandagainandagain. Againandagain. Againandagain. NEVER AGAIN. Seriously, XPN has been playing this in heavy rotation and I'm now forced to simply turn off the radio as soon as the first chords escape from the speakers. Ugh.
  14. Jeff at the Vic and opening weekend on the South Side? I love it when a plan comes together.
  15. If you're headed to NorthStar tonight, be wary of the deteriorating weather conditions. The snow/sleet/ice has been falling since this morning in Fairmount, and the streets aren't in great shape. Be careful out there!
  16. WXPN in Philly is on the What Light bandwagon.
  17. Soviet Kitsch is fantastic. Diverse, unusual, and musically adventurous. I first heard Regina when she opened for the Strokes in Houston many years ago. Her's was the best part of the show. The new record is also strong, but clearly (imho) designed to reach a wider (read: VH1) audience. The first "side", if you will, is terrific.
  18. Thanks for the reviews and setlists. But please, can you tell us what Chicago is like in the year 3006? Did the White Sox repeat as champs in 2006? Have the Cubs won a championship yet? Did they clone MJ? or Ditka? Does Millenium Park hold up to the test of time a millenium later? Can't wait to hear more stories...
  19. Blue Steel! Glenn busted out Blue Steel!!!
