  1. Sorry, I'm a female. Can't help it.
  2. That's exactly what I thought at first. I was working out of town at the time and we had no tv/radio/internet where we were working. One of my coworker's mom's called and said a plane had hit the WTC and I just assumed as you did.
  3. Actually, it's an IB school, which I think makes the situation even more ridiculous, considering critical thinking is one of the things emphasized.
  4. Hilton Head Island, SC) - A 10-year-old South Carolina student has been suspended from school after his pencil sharpener broke and he didn't immediately get rid of the blade inside. Authorities tell The Island Packet of Hilton Head that a teacher at Hilton Head Island International Baccalaureate Elementary School found a small razor blade on the boy in class Tuesday. A police report says it was obvious the blade came from a pencil sharpener. The report says the boy is a well-behaved, good student and cried when he was suspended for at least two days. He could face further punishment.
  5. I learned a huge lesson from 9-11. I realized that not everyone loves America and there are even some out there who would love to see us destroyed. I never knew of their absolute hate for us and our lifestyles. I guess I was just naive or either lost in my own little world before but that was definitely a wake up call for me. Since that day I have paid much more attention to politics and have probably grown up a little, too.
  6. Unfortunately, SC's Democratic Party officials have said plenty of stupid things over the past few years. Nothing surprises me anymore.
  7. I'll watch ND when they join a conference. Or to catch a glimpse of Mike Golic's son, whichever comes first.
  8. Didn't Palin say the Iraq war was God's will? Sorry, I don't have a link. I probably picked it up from someone's blog.
  9. Yep. I can't talk politics with my 91 year old grandmother. It's pointless. She almost disowned one of my cousins for dating a black guy. Sort of ironic, though, that she loved my cousin's first husband who was from Iran.
  10. Another thing that bothers me about labelling Palin as a feminist, is that it seems like not so long ago, alot of Repubs thought that was a bad thing. Oooh Hillary Clinton is a feminist, she's going to ruin our country. If anything, I'd say its because of feminism that Palin is allowed the opportunity she's been given but she's not necessarily a feminist.
  11. I love living here but that attitude is the one thing I have trouble with, especially when I have racists in my own family.
  12. Well I can only speak for myself in that I prefer to have a choice in the matter. Pro-lifers want to take that choice away from me. Are you asking me? Because I'm not the author of the original post, I just reposted it here.
  13. Well to begin with, I don't know too many feminists who would vote against abortion, even in cases of rape or incest.
  14. It's pretty scary. Several of my facebook friends have joined her fan page. Ugh.
  15. I realize that, but alot of woman are lapping the whole thing up, women who weren't voting for McCain until Palin came along. My point was that she is being called a feminist when she really isn't and it scares me that women believe that.
  16. I'm still afraid too many women voters think vagina=feminist. I'm curious to see how the VP debates play out.
  17. True. I can count on one hand how many times I've seen/heard Cheney over the last 8 years. Course, he's not a MILF. Or a GILF.
  18. I honestly don't know what they believe. I do know that I've heard a couple of people say that Obama and his wife hate America and that if he becomes president, they will stop at nothing to take down the country. I guess they think he's going to move all his Muslim terrorist friends over here and we'll live in some kind of Islamic state. I don't know.
  19. I personally know people who think this way. They seriously believe Obama is only doing this to take down our country.
  20. This is a typical post from that board: "This is funny watching the libs hang on every word of Palin.... hoping she makes a mistake so they can pounce. I truely have never seen them so afraid of someone. The funnier thing is that it backfires everytime they do it. The American people and especiallly idependents love Ms. Palin" (not edited for spelling) Anyone who says anything against Palin is either afraid of her or jealous. Oh and if I hear one more person call Palin a feminist, I'm turning in my feminist membership.
  21. I saw that last night and although I was extremely disgusted I think I was more sad than anything else. Living here in the South unfortunately I hear stuff like that all the time. Maybe not that extreme but it's out there. On another board I post on, someone said that if Obama became president he wouldn't make it through 4 years, meaning someone would make sure that he wouldn't.
  22. Jenna - So beautiful!! ViaTroy - Future heartbreaker!
  23. That rule has got to be changed or modified. How is flipping a ball up excessive celebration? They're totally taking all the fun out of the game not to mention changing the outcome. Ridiculous. Looks like ECU is the hot team this year, at least so far. Another coach who's left SC and become successful.
  24. Ah, I see. I've always wanted to say, hey I'm with the band! You play outside or one of the facilities?
