  1. Yay! I much prefer this kind of thread over the 'i'm leaving and never coming back" threads.
  2. Looks like we've been to alot of the same shows over the years. I totally get what you're saying. The Asheville show in 2005 was the worst show ever for me because a.) I couldn't see anything and b.) people wouldn't shut up. Even at the Cary show the couple in front of us sat down and carried on a conversation for most of the show. I don't get spending $40/person to come to a show and talk. But maybe that's just me.
  3. We were on the front row right in front of Jeff, so maybe that's why I liked the show so much. I didn't have to deal with the noise and smoke. I do remember some sorority-type chicks trying to push their way in front of me about halfway through the show but I wasn't having any of that. If I recall correctly, Head of Femur opened that night and they brought back the horns for the encore. Good times.
  4. I saw Wilco at the HOB in Myrtle Beach and it was one of the best shows I've ever been to. Certainly not pitiful.
  5. I wish I would've gotten a poster for the Cary show, but I was just so excited to be there I didn't even think about it.
  6. That shirt is really creepy up close.
  7. Happy Birthday! Thanks for putting up with us all.
  8. Happy Birthday from one Jen to another. I'm sure NKOTB would wish you one as well.
  9. Happy Birthday, Greg! You're certainly having a great birthday week...Wilco then MMJ. Hope it's all you hope for! Jen
  10. It was good to meet you, too, Greg! Too bad we didn't all know each other a few years ago. We were in Section 3 on the aisle (right in front of Jeff) about 5 or 6 rows back so I'm sure I saw some of you and just didn't know it! We also had a little girl with her mom sitting in the seats beside of us. She had a Wilco shirt on and I thought it was the cutest thing.
  11. Glad you and the wife had fun. I wish you guys could've made the Cary show. It was a pretty damn good time.
  12. Hey man, where were you sitting? I wonder if I saw you there... Anyway, what an awesome show. Great venue, great seats, great setlist, great company. Got to hear Misunderstood for the second night in a row, not to mention the Total Pros and Bon Iver. Also got to meet some cool VC'ers. Good times!
  13. After the first song or so I didn't think the crowd sucked at all. Of course, that may just be because of where I was sitting/standing. Everyone around me was dancing and having a good time.
  14. My head is a little fuzzy this morning but I do believe there was harmonica last night, yes. I'd say the only problem I had with the set list, with the exception of not playing Dreamer, was Late Greats. I've tried to get into that song and I just can't. Also in my estimation, Impossible Germany got the biggest crowd response. Of course, that could've just been where I was sitting. Oh did anyone know what the hell that guy was talking about who said he couldn't hear shit? I thought Jeff handled him pretty well. "would you like your $40 back, sir?"
  15. Haven't heard the album but I definitely enjoyed the live show last night.
  16. Someone mentioned that Cary has a noise ordinance, so that's why the start time is 7:00 vs 8:00. Also, Bon Iver has been coming on 15 minutes early. Last night it was around 7:45 but Wilco still didn't come on until 9:00 or so.
  17. You'll just have to have an extra good time tomorrow. I'm sure that won't be a problem! Not much longer before I'm off to get my left arm tan. It's hot out there!
  18. Yeah...just read back through the thread.
