re: Iron & Wine - I haven't heard anything about that, and only came across one link with a mention of that title.
dig deeper. the KUTX (apparently, a newly launched radio station in Austin where Beam currently resides), site had a lengthy in-studio performance and interview. so far, they've broadcast three new songs. two were from the in-studio set (one of which was so new it won't even be on the album) and with the third song, they actually played a song from the album (full studio version) in one of the interview segments.

a copy went for like $1,200 on ebay.
mp3s were being sold through the official site in some European countries, but that only last for a couple of days.

it was originally titled &TYSYC.
i think it might be another narrative-type deal like Undun.
edit: howdjadoo, what's surprising about my post? tell me one you think is doubtful and i'll tell you why it might happen (save Wilco, that is).

that Low album actually already leaked in full.
here is what is on my radar, gleaned from various publications or guesses because of them playing new songs, etc.

I didn't pay much attention to your post until yesterday evening when I mail-ordered three Rolling Stones albums.
The U.K. track list of Between the Buttons is very different from the U.S. track list, I ended up ordering the American edition because it contained the songs I wanted (the U.K. alternative was Flowers).
For a time I considered buying GRRR instead of these three separate purchases.
I read some pros and cons: it appears as though the sound quality on GRRR is extraordinary and hasn't been affected by loudness. However, the main reason why I didn't buy this are the versions that appear on GRRR, which according to some commentators are not the same as the album versions. Another deterrent was the price of the box set and its design which seems to me bulky for just three CDs of content.
well, the 2002 ABCKO U.S. and U.K. editions probably have the best sound of any CD release. i think i heard that the Grrr! set uses those masterings, so you won't get the loudness. however, everything in their catalogue, post-Sticky Fingers is Universal and the 2009 remasters are terrible. i believe that is what is used on Grrr.
what i did was buy CD versions of Between The Buttons (U.K.), Aftermath (U.K.), Sticky Fingers (2009, unfortunately), Exile On Main Street (2-disc Deluxe), Some Girls (2-disc deluxe), Beggars Banquet (2002 remaster) and Let It Bleed (2002 remaster). all i need to do now is buy the 3-disc Grrr said (around $20) and i'll have all of the tracks on the U.S. versions of Aftermath and BTB that i was missing (because, honestly, why would you not by the original U.K. albums when the U.S. are simply rejiggered tracklistings that delete album tracks and add tracks that were meant to be non-album singles? there is a reason the U.K. Beatles albums are canon). i'll also have most of the good singles from not-so good albums (the few early ones and the later-day ones).

yeah, Basement Tapes are a must. i think there might even be more that didn't make it on the complete bootleg sets. maybe they would have trouble clearing all of those covers?
i get what you are saying about that 1969-1970 period, but i think the entire 70s could use a lot of representation (New Morning outtakes, Planet Wave outtakes, Street Legal piano demos and/or Rundown rehearsals, the live songs from 78 that are not officially released, alternate Blood On The Tracks stuff, the "I'm Cold" tapes if they exist, etcs.

as they are saying over on ER, Columbia could be trying to assemble future Bootleg series in the format of Tell Tale Signs, where they'll cover a span of years with outtakes, previously released rarities and live tracks and be hugely successful:
1. the Self-Portrait outtakes that don't circulate (only among the super-insiders) are supposed to be really great.
2. we could also get New Morning and Nashville Skyline outtakes (we've seen a few as iTunes bonus tracks recently: "Lay, Lady, Lay" [rehearsal], alternate "Went To See The Gypsy," etc.
3. plus some stuff from the Dylan/Cash and Dylan/Harrison sessions, which aren't great, but a few tracks here and there
4. various live cuts from the few concerts during that era (Isle of Wight, etc.)
i'd buy it.
but then of course, i'd buy any new Dylan release whatsoever, so...

well, some of those acts have had a bit of successful longevity (Calexico, for example).
the bands you should have been talking about in 2006, that are still on top of their game and some of them making classics: The Tallest Man On Earth , Band of Horses, The Decemberists (i know they were mentioned earlier), TV On The Radio and (especially the last two), The National and Grizzly Bear.

i dunno. first half is pretty good, but the last half not so much.

are all of the 5 live tracks from that collected on the reissues?

i'm just going to assume the person that said "At Least That's What You Said" was joking.
lol. lol.
-justin

why is only the second album remastered? that's so strange.
-justin
-
just pre-ordered this on blowitouttahere for $26 plus 1.99 shipping. i order CDs from there sometimes. even cheaper than amazon sometimes.
-justin
-
those prices will go down at least a couple of bucks i bet.
i'm just fucking frustrated that this thing keeps getting pushed back.
-justin
-
that's really not a bad price for 3 CDs and 1 DVD, plus i'm assuming some sort of booklet.
at any rate, once things are finalized, i'm sure it will drop a few bucks. plus, if you get it from amazon, you won't have to pay for shipping.
-justin
-
links please?
-justin
-
i saw it on one site for $27. great deal for 3 CD/1 DVD. i'll definitely get it for that price, even though i own the first two albums. i'll have the third disc and i've never seen the documentary!
-justin

looks like this has been pushed to March 27. i'm about tired of this shit.
