  1. yeah, what.cd and waffles.fm will ban it, but if you asked the vast majority of people who download music what a transcode was, they wouldn't have a clue in hell. it would be all over the more active, non-discriminating torrent sites (piratebay, etc.), plus SoulSeek, plus all of the upload sites (mediafire, etc.)

not to mention that even the discriminating downloaders (me) who really want to hear the album would download the shitty stream rip anyway.

    i mean, i've pre-ordered, but i did it through amazon.com

  2. no, they wouldn't. if they let people who pre-ordered stream it, a capture of that stream would be all over the internet within a couple of hours.

  3. deluxe is 13.49 on amazon pre-order. wouldn't be surprised if it even dropped another buck or so. plus, you get the free shipping if you order enough to make a total of $25, which i will have no problem doing. why the hell would i order from the official store and pay almost $25 just for the deluxe and shipping?

  4. it's okay.

i don't think i'll ever gush over anything radiohead does. their music makes me feel claustrophobic and it always sounds so ...depressingly futuristic, i guess. like, if all those horrible visions of the future in 1980s sci-fi movies came true, the music would sound like this. and that's depressing as fuck.

honestly, i think that's a great description, but the thing is, that is exactly why i adore Radiohead and always have.

  5. you really think so?

i think it sounds like a mix of The Eraser and the Amnesiac-era b-sides ("Cuttooth," etc.) i also think it is sort of revolutionary and will take time to sink in. i sort of disliked it on first listen, but the second listen really opened up for me. it's an about-face. it doesn't have any traditional chord changes, few catchy melodies and little guitar. kinda like Kid A when everyone said that one was bad.

  6. i'm a huge fan myself.

    anyway, to answer your question:

i mean, the self-titled EP is easily as good as the debut album, just shorter. one song ("Into The Stream") is actually a repeat. if you are trying to complete your discography, there is a free track he donated to the Yellow Bird Project online (called "A Field Of Birds") and the "King of Spain" single from the new album has 2 b-sides. one is a cover of "Graceland" and another is a gorgeous, gorgeous balled called "Where I Thought I Met The Angels."

  7. In both Wilco and Loose Fur lyrics, Tweedy makes reference to the season autumn as being that of the devil... is there something in the Bible or some other religious teaching that labels autumn as the devil's month? Who came up with this metaphor first, if not?

    uh...wot?
