  1. they are GIANT ISOPODS!!! (basically GIANT lice) yeeeesh!
  2. well, I guess if you don't easily get motion sickness, you wouldn't understand. I get sick riding in the back seat of a car.
  3. some friends came by with some snacks to celebrate y'alls birthdays.......
  4. I have a little ikol love right now......I am so glad we can come together, amidst our plethora of differences, to have mutual appreciation for the greatness that was MST3K......and yes, those floor sweeper carts were awesome!!
  5. Space Mutiny....wow, it was crazy bad.
  6. oooh Donna those look interesting. I am planning on reading more fiction this spring for my "fun" reading. I will add those to my wishlist. Especially The Year of Fog, sounds really intriguing.

    Residency shows

we won't be at any of these shows, but sure do hope to meet up with some over you over that time period.
  8. The movie The Host was a movie about a monster attack and the trials of a group of people. But it had some pretty decent character development. In my opinion, that's what made it a really good movie.
  9. watching now.....enjoying it so far.
  10. if you ever want some MST3K - let us know - we have amassed quite a collection.
  11. I would also encourage No Country to be seen in a theatre - the photography, the composition in individual shots, etc.....amazing.....so glad I didn't see it on DVD. I wish I had seen Cloverfield on DVD - I may not have gotten so sick.
  12. I think what he is saying is that he at least wishes the government were honest in their intention, however twisted they might be......not that oil is worth a war/death/etc
  13. No Country For Old Men is a MUCH better choice. I cannot highlight this enough.
  14. like I said, it's not a bad movie - it just makes me barf.
  15. so far....so incredibly good and heartbreaking.
  16. not just literacy tests but basically the registrar could ask the applicant anything and deny their registration if the question wasn't answered to their satisfaction..... I mean crazy stuff like, "how many bubbles are there in a bottle of champagne?.....don't know that.....denied." It was this type of thing that really mobilized the Movement in Mississippi in the 1950's among other things. Add to all that the fact that people's lives were threatened and homes attacked for attempting to register to vote...... *sigh*
  17. people died for the right to vote in this country.....as corrupt as the political machine is these days, no way would I spit in the face of people who gave so much to secure these rights for you and I. This country might look a lot different if everyone voted.
  18. add me to the motion sickness list - this movie made me really sick. I would have gotten up to leave, but thought the bright lights of the lobby would have pushed me over the edge into pukeville. I sat through the second half of the movie with my eyes closed thinking about how quickly I could get the lid off the cup and puke in it, if need be. I didn't hate the movie - and probably would have enjoyed it had I not felt like I was going to die throughout the whole thing.
  19. I hope you had a great day Christy!!
  20. Ironically enough, I was just listening to this on my way home this evening......Act One about the harassment of a muslim family, particularly their daughter, is heartbreaking and repugnant. The bigotry and hatred they suffered forced them out of their town and broke up the family. So so sad.
  21. The yarn came today for a heart hat for a certain baby Grace.
  22. I guess I am rooting for the Giants in the Super Bowl.
