Wow, that's exactly how I feel about you.

I couldn't agree with you more. This is one of the things about going to Sox games that drives me crazy. It's like constant short attention span theatre. Constant flashing stuff on the screens, music, etc.....There is a section in the outfield for kids fo go hit wiffle balls off a tee and run around a little field......I don't wanna sound like an old codger, but when I was a kid I was just happy to go to the game with my mitt in hand. All these "extras" just seem ridiculous. I do love the organ music, but these "pick the frat guy doing the ass dance" contest to decide which song we will hea

I know! Me too! One of my all time favorite stories. Graham, how about finding it in the archives for us? You are good at that.......

oh, we'll probably be watching too..... (I say this with a sigh of resignation)

he could have learned a few things from Wesley Willis.

I don't really enjoy either......but, that's just me. Just let the week be over already so I can go back to watching/listening to Sox games......

I am of the opinion that the home run derby is nothing but wankery.

bobbob - link? I have only seen speculation about why he did it. I have heard it was likely racial insults - but haven't heard anything specific. Also, the recipient of the headbut could likely win an Oscar nod. What a freakin show.

the Sox radio guys had similar comments about the strikezone.

oh man, the WGN/Cubs people are still distracted a good portion of the time......there would be entire at bats missed because we had to see yet some other vantage point of Wrigley field. From the Bud Light Bleachers, From the rooftop decks, from the hot dog stand across the street, from the point of view of some dude on a bicycle......I wonder if their camera guy gets fed up from having to walk all over Wrigleyville........ And then the announcers just babble on about bullshit half the time and miss calls, etc........

yeah I did too....and I am not even a big fan. Where's my prize?

without cable anymore - we only get to see a handful of games on the TV. This is quite a switch from the daily baseball watching we got used to over the last year. However, we enjoyed a long afternoon on the patio with Ed Farmer. He and Chris Singleton are a lot of fun to listen to. I worked on sanding a table most of the afternoon while listening and then it was a joy to sit out as the sun set, sipping a soda, listening to baseball on the radio. I could learn to LOVE this. I agree Hawk pretty much sucks and DJ is a bit of a wet mop. And I never said the White Sox were better than the Ti

I love that book - I have read some of his other stuff, but that one is by far the best IMO.

The one of the funniest shows ever!!!!!!! Coupling from the BBC
Reni replied to WITHIK's topic in Tongue-Tied Lightning
I have seen it once, and would love to see more. From what I remember it was indeed hilarious. And I am likely in the minority around here, but I like Friends. -
would anyone care to explain the "I just cooked my batting helmet over a campfire" look to me?

well AJ being in there is definitely a case of ballot stuffing....they have no way to prevent it if you can vote as much as you like.....there was a big campaign here to get AJ in. Same with Scotty Pods last year.

so then do you base it on current season to date stats? last year's stats?

Happy Birthday, Satchel Hall of Famer and Negro League legend Paige would turn 100 By Justice B. Hill It is unusual to think of Satchel Paige as young. Most stories about Paige are of an "old man" -- stories of an ageless pitcher who excelled in baseball. Yet Paige had to be young at some point in his life -- maybe even when most people thought he was old. Who knows for sure, though? Paige himself took pains to keep his age a mystery. "Age is a question of mind over matter," he'd often tell people who asked his. "If you don't mind, it don't matter." The best guess is that, if he
