kyle, i generally agree with you but that statements a tad off. that thin wild mercury sound? infusing great lyrics with rock n roll? no one did that before dylan. i wouldn't say he changed the recording process like the beatles. or all the weird shit floyd was doing bck then but he offered a lot musically. -

i rarely want to listen to the beatles, honestly. but once i hear a song or two i can't stop for like 2 days. -

i work with two dipshits who claim the beatles were not that influential & in fact suck. i refuse to talk to them unless it's about work. i can understand (sort of!) not liking the music but not recognizing their importance is flat out stupid. -
i think the cheese factor was totally intentional. all xmas albums are like that.

it's insane to think that not only did Mtv show videos from popular artists/bands but they had quite a few shows dedicated to more 'underground' artists. plus, YO! Mtv raps. the best of them all

that's the best suggestion of all. get with some friends, have a few beers & forget about that shit for a while.

i had the same problem when my last ex & i split. i couldn't listen to ike reilly for about 2 years. finally, i can listen to him now with no problems. i'm so glad because i missed his music more than i missed her ;-)
