  1. Well, it was started after a conversation between myself and El Kev, and it was resurrected after a conversation between myself and El Kev. Go figure, huh?
  2. Thanks for that, Norman Vincent Peale.
  3. I still have that pic on my fridge! And I do remember DDN - didn't John Dwork (Taper's Compendium guy) do that newsletter?
  4. Nice! I forgot to mention Zappa, front row at a small club show here in 1984 - lots of eye contact as well!
  5. Does anyone else have the Billy and the Boingers 45 ? From the "Bootleg" book? That's around here somewhere. Quite a few Bloom County books here - I loved this stuff.
  6. I always used to like Theme From The Bottom and My Friend My Friend as openers. The first P-H opener I saw was Wilson (2/21/03). After Trey's first 2 notes the whole place ROARED "WILLLL-SONNN!" Awesome.
  7. Well fuck it, let's just go balls-out and say set 1: Gamehenge. Impossible, I know...hell, I'd go crazy for a Bowie opener.
  8. When they had that contest to name the final song (prize: CDs of the Coventry run) I guessed "Slave". It was the set closer, not the encore. DOH! So close...
  9. Director of the year goes to ..... Jules Jordan.
  10. I just want to go on the record to state that Malcolm X is an American hero, and if he WAS Barack's father it shouldn't bother anyone in the least.
  11. I think Clive Davis "stole" Goodman from The Flock for Mahavishnu - McLaughlin wanted Jean-Luc, but he had visa problems or something at the time.
  12. Thank you Lou! I must put this on my Xmas list. Opus 23c - with Hemphill, Lake and Bluett - Good Lord, I NEED to hear this!

    Woah!

How time flies - you should bust out a recording if you have one.
  14. 1) My wife's perfume 2) An indoor Phish concert Both are very intoxicating, you might say.
  15. Nice call! The first IABD record is a favorite, and The Flock...what was the name of that record - Dinosaur Swamp? Man I listened to that one at a friend's house a lot back in the day.
  16. Damn. the closest I ever got for them was like 6th row - my last show (the Deer Creek Incident), but we won't talk about that.
  17. I'm gonna go out on a limb here and say Icculus (with a rap about having to come back to save our lives!
  18. OK PEB, I just have to chime in with everyone else here - that's just about the best story I've ever read on teh VC. Give that kid a big hug from all of us.
  19. Nope, but if there are Deer Creek shows this summer we should all have a VC summit there.
  20. If we're talking about large venues (hockey halls, sheds, etc): David Bowie 1990 - front row Allman Bros. 1990 - front row literally dozens of others in the first 5-10 rows.
  21. On the late news last night they said Brownsburg (just south of Indy) had gas for $1.83. Day-umm!
