Which one, A-man? I guess I should also say that I haven't seen the GD Movie since it was only available on vhs, so maybe I need to watch the refurbished shit before I comment....

I watched a few dvds this past weekend (my dvd player shit the bed last year and I finally got a new one) and still really like all of the discs (watched Oakland/Anaheim '87). The Grateful Dead movie, though, is probably my least favorite. I'm not into the whole faux-trippy stuff they try to pull in it. The same with the 80s/90s concerts when they do trails and shit. I like just nice camera angles and the footage of the band playing. The Winterland dvds are a must-own, though. Every song is absolutely full blown rocked/played.

I haven't even ever heard any of the albums after Alive II (save for the solo ones, whenever they came out).

I use both of these regularly, too. Grew up in CT but lived in southeast VA for 8 years and it stuck. It's really easy to get hooked on using "y'all." It's a verbal shortcut and I'm all for that.

Any male who grew up (early teens) in the mid-late 70s can not deny their appeal. I have great memories of enjoying them back then and still listen to some of their old stuff from time to time. They definitely had a grip on the male teen market back then.

I never liked Pet Sounds. Whether I "get" or not is irrelevant. I also don't understand how it's supposed to be enjoyable just for the sound on it, regardless of the tunes themselves. Hmmm....
-
Sure you're not thinking of NFA with the clapping at the end of the tune/second set-> encore? I've got no issues with bending tunes into one another and not "completing" them, per se. As long as it sounds decent I can handle it.

Those '73-'74 China-> Riders are phenomenal. I love the "Feelin' Groovy" jams in the transitions.

My computer is shitting out. Can anyone paste the list (with comments?) without having to do a slide show? I saw that wrigley was 4th and fenway second and Dolphin Stadium last but can't get the others....

Ah. Looks like an old copy, obviously, as well. The print is probably a bit larger than standard print these days, too.

Why does this look so fat? It's a short read. Hmm.... Probably my favorite book ever written, too.

I mispronounce it as "all-timers" a lot.

You can pre-order them too. I guess this is for those who like to take risks.

That was tough to stomache, for sure. I could not ff the clip so I had to turn the volume off until I saw them take up the instruments. Absolutely painful.

I paid $70 bucks for a ticket (face- originally $60 but with the ridiculous charges= $72). It's the most I've ever paid for a single-band concert and was the cheapest out there.

I've listened to Greensboro and thought it was pretty danr good. As to the Dead doing tv/White House/ticket prices, etc : not for nothing but Garcia died almost 14 years ago when tickets to shows were going for over $40 often. I'd imagine they'd be close to what other major acts charge now. I hear you're point but, unfortunately, time forges ahead and things change. These guys are old and most of them have been vocal about their political ideals the last 10 years or so. Doesn't bother me that much as I hardly expected things to remain the same after Garcia kicked, though. This band has

True. Eh, who cares really if she "sat in"? Everybody's out on bathroom break anyway.
