  1. I was thinking that, too. It needed something like that on there, I think. It's just the right fit for the album: not too much.
  2. Listened to the new Son Volt this a.m. and really enjoyed it. I like the mellowness of it through and through. good tunes, good lyrics, good overall vibe to it.
  3. Good one. I remember when this came out and was all over the radio. My mom used to cringe when it'd come on in the car and would always make us change the channel. All due to the "Catholic girls" reference, etc. Also: the "Louie, Louie" mention is a great call. It was actually investigated by the FBI for obscenity and caused a huge stir when it was in regular rotation on the airwaves.
  4. 11 straight Ws for BOS. Bullpen has been huge, as has offense.
  5. Pujols very well may go somewhere. It's always about the biggest pay day in the end.
  6. I was stuck on a "Deal" from MSG '81 for about 2 weeks not long ago. The jam is ridiculous. There are whole shows and parts of shows and particular songs and particular parts of songs that I never get over, though. I'll go back to them forever. ed. Donna was on "maternity leave" for latter half of Nov. and Dec. of '73....
  7. Rape me Rape me my friend Rape me Rape me again You know she begs me not to hit her
  8. That 12/12 show is really nice. Lots of tunes and the soundcheck stuff is fun. I've got a better qual. of this I believe....
  9. Correct and yes. Sentimental reasons but I also remember that night very intently listening for the first hint of Stephen as they'd done it in MSG a few nights earlier out of Space. The lead up still gives me shivers.
  10. One of mine is the Soace-> into St.Stephen from 10-15-83. The build up is intense. I always dug The Wheel out of Space, too.
  11. Says : With Special Guests" in The Westword (main local arts/events paper)....
  12. As a standard part of the sets, yes. I'm pretty sure they did some shows with Drums-> Space-like jams as early as '72, and definitely '74....
  13. None of my DeadBases even list space, just Drums....
  14. I thought I was missing an adjective!
  15. Omitting the "feedback" stuff they were doing around '69 I wanna say '72 was to beginnings of Drums-> Space. Could be off a year or two, though.
  16. Willie opened for Phil & Friends at Red Rocks a few years ago. Kind of a weird mix. The GD= nothin' but a jug band.
  17. Hey, I say "eye-RACK" and like saying it, too.
  18. There's no "lawn seating" at RR and the GA in the first 25 rows holds a lot of folks, actually (bench-style rock/wood seating). The reserved stuff (even row 39 or whatever) is still excellent sight/sound). Unless you're at the very top or behind the stage the sound is really quite good (particularly on a clear night) everywhere else. Plenty of room to move around and find a spot under a tree/side of stairs/etc.
