David Ortiz drives in the winning run AGAIN today (12th inning). This is getting ridiculous.

I'll agree with this. Ann Coulter is an entertainer. She says outlandish b.s. because it gets folks riled up and keeps her a topic of discussion. She has no affiliation with any particular media outlet (newspaper, t.v. network, magazine, etc.) so she is essentially accountable to no one but herself. She needs to keep her gig going and the way to do that is spew and print nonsensical drivel. She reminds me a lot more of Howard Stern than Hitler. She is easily dismissable by anyone with half a brain as she's not in the Politics business, but the entertainment business.

Well, that -and go in and out of rehab.

doh! Haven't had the coffee yet. Braves v. Sox game last night was a nail-biter. Almost 4 hrs. to finish. Bobby Cox was down-right and visibly pissed at his bullpen's continued inability to hold leads, notably for Smotlz (5th time this year, I believe, they've shat the bed on Smoltz).

Uggla is having a great year, but I'd put Papelbon as a serious contender for ROTY as well, assuming he can reach 40+ saves and maintains a decent e.r.a. (he's at a ridiculous 0.25 or somethingg now, though he certainly won't maintain this for the season). All this assuming he continues to dominate as he has and can bounce back from a few blown saves, though he's yet to blow a game.

I've had both and they are both excellent brews, particularly the Bridgeport.

Kudos to that particular beer. I had a few Full Sails last night for the first time. Delicious stuff right there now.

I'm on a "classics" kick. Just started these two: And have this on the "next up" list I'll be bringing on vacation next week:

SHY Vodka and Grape juice. And I'm not much of a Vodka drinker. Though, I do enjoy the grape juice. Sweet crippled Jesus.

Tweedy at hotel ... 4.8.06 - was it taped ?

Any way to get this for the FLAC impaired (as well as BT impaired)? I wrestle with and lose with anything but Mp3 downloads. Maybe it's a "Mac" thing, I don't know. -
Another southern writer I really enjoy is Larry Brown (from Oxford, Miss.). Although he does write short stories, I enjoy his novels; he's got a knack for depicting the seemier side of life in a compelling way. I'd recommend both The Rabbit Factory, and Fay. Where Are You Going....is loosely based on "It's All Over Now, Baby Blue." The Arnold Friend character is based on a real-life creep, too.

The Crop. Revelation. The Artificial Nigger. The Misfit. ed. My all-time favorite short by her is "Where are you going, Where have you been." Dedicated to "Bob Dylan." Do you know which tune she based it on?

A joke that didn't go over well, I suppose.

Excellent, excellent book that I dig into frequently.

By whom? I'm a big Flannery O'Connor fan, among other southern writers.

I'll happily donate for a listen. And perhaps even without a listen. Someone direct me to the proper place.... -
Excellent book, so far, too. His first, The Many Aspects of Mobile Home Living is a hoot.

Hey jimmy: how is this one? I've been working on Infinite Jest for about a year+ (the thing's gotta weight 8-9 lbs.) and dig his style. Also: I highly recommend , which tells the story of JW Boothe's assination on Lincoln and the 12 day manhunt for him. It's non-fiction and reads like a novel, with diresct quotes from all people involved. A great historic read that really flows....

Sweet creamy jesus, 37 tunes?! It almost looks made-up.

Thanks Boots, I hadn't heard these before. Still can't figure how to translate them to my itunes for burning, but whatever, at least I can dig on 'em.
