I picked this up yesterday. I'd never read him before. I nailed the first 100 pages or so last night and quite like his writing style. Very rhythmic pace to it.

It may be 10 a.m. as Dylan likes to catch the "early-bird special" dinners, I hear. At first I read it as Junior and Jimmy actually playing with Dylan. Then I realized my unfortunate mistake.
-
I hear he voted for Barry Goldwater.

This is one certain instance where I'm willing to bet the movie will be better. Seriously.
-
I'd go with One By One. Or (Banter).

I believe Paul McCartney co-wrote the tune and helped Miller record it, but I'm drawing a blank on a drummer of note that I should know....

Dick Nixon.

"Pants" Talk about them.

Not to mention Larry Campbell, who has an impressive list of credits as a studio musician, and was Dylan's back-up guitarist for seven years. One of the things that often eludes listeners of Phil's hand-selected artists he tours with, is the fact that he purposely chooses folks, at times, that may not have the best grasp of the tunes being played. This is what I meant earlier on how Phil keeps it fresh. Ryan Adams interpreted tunes like The Wheel and Sugar Magnolia differently (often missing/adding lyrics) and that's the way Phil wanted it. Same with Larry Campbell, I believe. The guy has his

Correct. It's all Dead tunes, anyway. They all had a hand in it and even if they didn't, they are certainly entitled to interpret any music they please. I'm not real sure Garcia would have chose to have "his" tunes put to bed just because he's no longer around. No one ever bitches about folks playing Chopin tunes or Mozart covers in concert recitals.....

Trey has played with Phil quite a bit. The Comes A Time show (no Phil, though) was a blast and Trey sang a few tunes with the masses on stage. He was one of Phil's first "Friends" when the band was formed. Phil's had many configurations for his band as he likes to keep the tunes varied and interpreted differently, and Trey's takes on the material are pretty decent. I'm still surprised Phil & Co. aren't making their usual Denver/Red Rocks stop. There's still room to tack a Red Rocks show or two onto the end of the tour, though....

Probably too easy as well, but here goes. Oh, and no googling!! Neil Young was in an obscure band in the '60's with future members of the Byrds, Buffalo Springfield, and one other guy. Who was the guy and what was the band called?
-
It'll be interesting to hear the unique styles of both Vaughn and Jr. Brown. I'm assuming Dylan stays on the keys for these. No Coors Field, eh?
-
Yes'm. We've now tied the A.L record for no consecutive errors, and may take the MLB record tie tomorrow. But really, who f'in cares. I'm actually o.k. with Pedro not pitching longer (though I do enjoy watching him) but the ultimate goal is for us to win shit. So, kudos to us, once again, eh?
-
Welp. 11 in a row. I believe no "E's" tonight, either.
-
By "approach to the mound" I thought you meant his initial reception. If you meant "how he pitched off the mound...." then he pitched o.k. There was a really bad mis-play in left field by Lastings Cummings that brought in 2 runs. And, the Sox were hitting him out of the gate. Granted, he didn't last 4 innings, though, but....
-
An excellent, well-deserved stand-o reception. Then we proceeded to batter the tar out of him and chase him out of the game by the 4th inning. Exactly what I hoped for.
-
Thanks. I guess the large black ESPN letters should have been a clue for me, eh?
-
BBB: do you have a link to the article? I can't find one....

That's the rub, right there. I can't stand listening to most of the network guys (esp. McCarver). Herschisher is great at the job, though. And, as I said above, I get a lot of the NESN feeds even when the Sox are on the road. I don't know why. I also can't get weei out here. With Extra Innings, they offer an earlybird special pre-season and very early season rate: $150-155, I think. Mark your calendar or something.
-
Darkstar: You NEED to get MLB Extra Innings. It's the main thing that keeps me sane during the season. I've been able to catch @155 Sox games/yr. since getting the package (4-5 years now) living a few thousand miles from New England. I often get the NESN feed when they're on the road, too. Of course, you can watch tonight's game on ESPN2, as well.
-
Going for 11 in a row "W's" tonight. Also, going for A.L. record-tying 15 games in a row error-less streak. And of course, Petey back in Fenway.
-
Yeah, Jerry and Don mentioned Gammo in the 3rd inning, sending out hopes for a speedy recovery. An amazing baseball fan who changed the way the game is covered/reported with his Sunday columns in The Globe. I'll add to the sentiments for a full recovery....
-
Pedro deserves a standing ovation. He was pitching the day D-Lowe, Dave Roberts, et al. got to come back in early 2005 for the celebration at Fenway.

I read a book of hers a few years ago and most of the chapter titles were either Dead song titles or Dead-related. Unfortunately, it was the best reading in the book.
