Albanians. I just don't like the cut of their collective jib.

We used right in the back of my dad's pickup truck all over town when we were kids, sitting on the wheel hubs or standing up looking over the cab.. I also remember laying down in the back of the station wagon on long road trips. I've got 4 brothers, so seat belts were limited. Come to think of it, I don't think we ever even used them. We've come a long way.

Bottom line for me: who cares what/how one person interpreted a show/movie/play/book? I read reviews, too, but take them with a grain of salt. Just because they get paid for their opinions doesn't make their opinions any more valid. The reviewer quoting from a song shouldn't have been so lazy as to not do a quick fact check by seeking out the lyrics, though. If anything, the reviewer goes on your ignore list, now, eh?

Maybe she went to see The Circle Jerks....

I'm not trying to be a wise guy, but really, so what? I realize it's one album. I listened to one Lp of Kiss Alive II more than the other. Same with Zappa's Sheik Yerbouti, Frampton Comes Alive, The Allman's Eat A peach, Aerosmith's Live Bootleg, Husker Dus Zen Arcade, Dylan's The Basement Tapes, etc., etc. because I generally enjoyed one better than the other.

I'd argue that there is a distict difference in vibe/mood between the two and it may have been broken up the way it is for more than aesthetic reasons. Disc 1 is obviously more rocking and Disc 2 obviously more laid back. I kind of treat them as separate albums, really. Sometimes I'm more in the mood for one and not the other. I like how it's broken up, actually. Way to tow the company line, AWATT. (smiley emoticon, I suppose).

Most Tom Petty tunes. It took me a long time (many years) to appreciate Petty. I'm not sure what the holdup was, but I gave in about 5-6 years ago.

It's a name dubbed him and bandied around on a Sox sight I frequent.... Classic.

I believe the last one he gave up (walk-off) was against the Red Sox in July (24th?) of 2004, to Bill Mueller. This is also known as the game where Varitek shoved his mitt into Slappy McBluelips' annoying mug (though he wasn't known as Slappy McBluelips until the ALCS Game 6).

Give the dogs a bath today and paint the driveway wall green. Go to the Frog Rodeo up in the mountains tomorrow (Empire, CO). Install a back yard table umbrella in a planter with concrete. Cook up that rack of ribs in the freezer. Visit my pal on house arrest (driving issues) and teach him the better version of backgammon: Acey-Deucey. Watch the Sox sweep Seattle. Chances of all of these things happening: 91%. It'd normally be closer to 73%, yet I've been airing my liver out since the 4th. ed. sp. And yes, the Frog Rodeo is a grand old time. I'm not sure why it's been dubbed a "rodeo,"

Next pitch, nonetheless. 2 1/2 back for the Yankees.

He had some choice words for management on his way out of Boston. He also went on a profanity-laced tirade in the clubhouse the other day because nobody from the front office congratulated him on adopting a baby. This after Shea took off last fri. to be with his family and not returning 'til Tues. He was called a "cancer" and a "coward" in a team meeting last night by the skipper, in which the manager challenged him to hit him. I'm not making this up.

I'm sure there are plenty of livers for all the filthy rich rockers. -
Trying to pick through all of the "reputable" media outlets (and yeah, some are "right-wing conservative, dammit!" and some are " lefty-biased bastards!") is difficult enough these days to glean a fair and realistic take on what is actually going down in this country and abroad. The fact-based news that trickles down to our collective commoner ears through the media is often so watered down it's hard to accept a lot of it at face value. Go to a library or book store and the "Politics/Social Issues" sections are crammed with books on how the Right is wrong and is screwing the country over an

But they both have cool facial tattoos, so I always mix them up. -

If you havent heard Todd Snider's "Iron Mike's Main Man's Last Request," well...you should. The song cracks me up each time, and everytime I read/hear mention of tyson the song pops into my brain. This would be an amusing and entertaining fight if were handled in a Fox reality t.v.-like way. They could do a series on the two of these washed up problem children prepping/training for The Big Bout and the final episode, of course, could be The Big Bout. I'd watch. -
One of my all-time favorite bumper stickers was a smallish sticker from the 80s that said: "Bob Spit On Me."

Also talk of Ray King (CO) being courted by BOS (for Tavarez) and ATL (for Sosa). Talk about bottom feeders. Yeesh.

What if ction cleans up the thread a bit, though?

We keep a strong supply of chloroform at all times. Sneaking up behind the unruly child with a soaked rag cupped over their mouth while whispering "sleep, my precious" usually works wonders. Be careful, though, it can be lethal. I've got 4 and 6 year old boys and I couldn't imagine pushing even the 4 yr. old in a stroller these days. First, it would be a little tedious since he's not real light anymore (not to mention the hassle of loading/unloading the stroller in/out of the car). Second...what the hell? You're 4 yrs. old. Walk. I'll piggy-back them or give them shoulder rides if we're doi

I was thinking more along the lines of trade bait.

I certainly don't have an answer for that, but I'd imagine the Atlanta brass is intent on acquiring some decent help for their 'pen. The Braves have a very deep Farm system and really have modeled astute use of it for the past 15-20 years.

Although the pool to draw from is very thin this year, they may be able to bolster their bullpen. It's their main bane. If they can improve, why couldn't they contend for the playoffs? There's a little less than half a season of ball left.
