  1. Clarence Clemens blew a mean horn for the E Street Band, as well. Added quite a flavor to the rocking-ness.
  2. I believe Adrian Curry sports both the porkchops and the applesauce. I always rued the day I'd be jealous of Peter Brady, and people, today is that day.
  3. I wan't aware he HAD PLAYED IN THE GD!!! I was referring more to his non-Dead input, but still, he's "covering" GD material, regardless. He does a few tunes off of his Phil & Friends album, but the GD stuff is being interpreted by 1/6 of the original GD with other non-GD musicians. He does a lot of covers that are not GD, as well. Your second point about him actually singing the Ryan tunes is what?
  4. I'm concerned. Red Sox pitching has been inconsistant, they've lost a bunch of recent series they should have won and will face these teams again this month: SEA, LAA, TB, and TOR. Not to mention the NYY who are gelling right now and a CLE team the Sox split a series with last meeting and a hot DET team. Fat Bastard (Wells) looks lost, Wakefield is missed, and Papelbon is fallible. Plenty to be concerned about.
  5. I'm going to assume everything in the picture is a prop. Man, he cracks me up.
  6. Their Root Beer is kick-ass, too. All their soda's, really. Not too sweet. Nice and crisp.
  7. Hunh. I was unable to figure out how to get it at full-screen (what was the trick there?), so the wife and I (and intermittantly our 6 and 4 year olds) were huddled around the computer vying for optimum screen angle.
  8. It sounded to these ears he was tossing in "one light"'s towards the end of the tune. I've noticed a lot of ween fans use the "W", as well. I give kudos to Popper and Blues Traveler. They sound really good and he looks healthy (after a tummy staple, of course). I used to see them a bunch in the late 80s and always thought they had there own decent thing going on, apart from traditional jambands.
  9. I was actually impressed that the camera folks knew the tunes well enough to hype the furociousness of some of the jams, vomit-inducing as it potentially was.
  10. I'd say the highlight for me, too, was Walken. Sounded great, especially with the horns. I like how Nel's shirt, Glenn's kit, and Jeff's coat all matched. I also appreciated Jeff's attempt at reviving the much-revered-yet-seldom-ballsy-enough-to-sport leprechaun look. Erin Go Bragh!
  11. Happy Anniversary, mountain bed! I believe the traditional gift for year 12 is milk. Either milk or steel, I forget.
  12. Ah. They were apparently left in a storage locker by Betty and ignored. The contents of the storage space were sold to several groups of people when she could not be contacted. I believe at least one of the parties who bought a chunk of the master reels released them into circulation (as they are fairly common in attaining).
  13. I haven't heard that they've been sold, but I'd imagine they've been transferred to Rhino with the rest of the live catalogue. There are still many Betty boards available for streaming on sites like archives.org. There are certainly a lot of them in circulation, as well. Though they obviously lose their pristine-ness over time through multiple generations, they still sound great. I believe I've heard a clone off of a master once, and it of course sounded spectacular. The ones available for streaming sound great too, though.
  14. Yeah, pretty much a dream job if you're a fan (as he was/is when hired). A young guy when hired ion the late 90s, too. The relix interview was well-done. Here's a brief interview with lemiuex from a couple of years ago from Jambase.com: http://www.jambase.com/headsup.asp?storyID=5914
  15. I would suspect that Rhino would keep the availability of sbds via internet the same status as GD has: nope. It's a bona fide business operation/deal and they'll want to protect their investment, I'd imagine. I believe Lemieux is one of the few remaining employees at GDP and will hopefully be a consultant for the upkeep/distribution of the vault.
  16. Really not too weird, actually. Ryan was in Phil's band for a spell last year. Phil does mostly all cover tunes in concert. Phil and Ryan are puportedly collaborating on an album, as well. Phil is a big Ryan fan, and vice versa.
  17. I just saw Steven Perkins from Jane's/Banyan. What a freakin monstah...
  18. Ewwww. It's common knowledge that all European men wear incredibly revealing and tight bathing suits. Mr. Visnjic apparently did not get the memo. He is both an embarassment to his great nation and his absent-minded testicles.
  19. Probably. He's either terrible or pitches a gem. There's no middle ground with Beckett this season. He seems to snowball quickly in games where he gives up a few runs early. It's frustrating going into a game to watch him pitch because it's a coin-toss as to which way he'll fare. I'd be tempted to assign partial blame to Huckaby catching him tonight, but it's not infrequent for Beckett to shit the bed early in a game without being able to pull out of it.
  20. Even if they wanted to they'd be second in line to the Red Sox in a waiver claim as they are ahead of the Sox in winning percentage.
  21. He'll have to clear waivers and should be able to join Boston in Tampa Bay by tomorrow. Great score for the Sox as 'Tek is likely out for at least the regular season. http://sports.espn.go.com/mlb/news/story?id=2538688
  22. That's funny. I guess it did come off a bit sappy. Besides, if it were fairyland I would have been riding Bea Arthur while constantly demanding faster speed instead of a bike.
  23. I've heard from several folks this is an exceptional book. It's on my list.
  24. Banjo Wabash or, a year ago: Lola Steele
  25. Coming to a near stop to wait for my son on a bike ride tonight I was unable to get my rain-soaked flip-flop out of the toe-holder on the pedal and was cussing in my head as I realized I had no option but to hit the blacktop. When my son caught up he asked me why I did that, as he thought it unsafe. +1:boy -1: the old man
