As to the question at hand, Robot or Cyborg, I'll submit "neither." Trebek is, in fact, a douchebag. I TIVO and watch every one of the episodes (it's an addiction: two/day) and the guy comes off as a pretentious prick. He's often seemingly condescending and seems to gloat when folks can't answer a question. He's got the rhythm of the show down pat and is pretty good at his moderating duties, but cripes he's a ninny.

I disagree. He's just giving his opinion, which he admits is a bit over-the-top and overly sensitive. He also writes that he hopes others enjoy the show even though it's "ruined" for himself. I've been to the site a few times and the guy puts up some decent stuff. I have always enjoyed this show and go back to it often. Very good performance. Then again...it's just my opinion.

Jon Papelbon is the best baseball thread ever

Jon Papelbon was way cool Everybody liked Jon Papelbon Everybody wanted to hang out with him Anything he wanted to do, he did He turned water into wine And if he wanted to He could have turned wheat into marijuana Or sugar into cocaine Or vitamin pills into amphetamines He walked on the water And swam on the land He would tell these stories And people would listen He was really cool If you were blind or lame You just went to Jon Papelbon And he would put his hands on you And you would be healed That's so cool He could've played guitar better than Hendrix He could've told the future He co -

Not to mention only Mariano Rivera has pitched more innings. Papelbon has a ridiculous era and lowest BA, too. I'm not sure why you're so adamant about not wanting to recognize that he's currently the best of all closers. Regardless of your distaste for the Red Sox, it's pretty amazing watching the kid pitch and seeing what he's done. -

Ah, great title. I'll bring this over from the other thread, though: Jon Papelbon, currently the most dominant closer in MLB- http://sports.espn.go.com/mlb/stats/closers -

Are you referring to him proselytizing last night with Kruk? Word on the street is he was canned for repeated sexual harassment in Bristol. These are unsubstantiated rumors, of course.

Orel, IMO, does an excellent job during games. Very apt comments, doesn't talk too much, and great insight into the mechanics of pitching.

The MVP award goes to the player who was the most valuable to their team/organization, not the best player in the Divisions. Generally, team success is factored in as a guideline to the player's contributions. This may be why the MVP often goes to players on teams with success. Because a team is successful doesn't negate the impact an individual player has in dramatically enhancing the team, hence the MVP votes.

Uggla has really slagged off the last month+. I'd say he's a very long shot. For the NL, I'd go with Zimmerman (Nats) or even Hermida (Marlins) as strong contenders. In the AL, I'd imagine Liriano (as a dominant starter) gets a much stronger look than Papelbon (as a dominant closer).

Right next door to me, too. The muthafucka screams at the 6 yr. old boy (who's dad passed away two years ago and this prick moved in with the kid and mom) all day long on the weekends and most weekdays. "pick up the GODDAMNED poop you no-good Mexican pussy." This from "adult" to a 6 yr. old boy to rid their naty clusterfuck yard (which I've barricaded from our view but installing a 6 ft. privacy fence last spring)of the day's dogshit. The dude boozes hard and screams at not just the kid (who he's not even related to) but the girlfriend, dump truck drivers, and the mail lady. My wife called

That's probably why I got shanked. I never really fit in with the other fellas in the joint and their macho slang. ed. I was just informed they are interchangeable. If I ever see you in the yard, watch your back.

Getting shanked with a shiv in the prison yard. I hate that.

Some recent Ryan Adams messageboard posts
Lammycat replied to oatmealblizzard's topic in Someone Else's Song
Were folks actually pissed off? Strikes me as odd as Phil & Friends have been covering Ryan tunes without Ryan in the band since at least December of this past year. Phil's obviously got great respect for Ryan as a song-writer, as well he should.
