Chicago Sun Time's Feature and Tribune Review
Gobias Industries replied to jdmel's topic in Just A Fan
Tweedy said at a show that he thinks the newest album is always the best. Which is kinda the point. -
yeah, it's hard to get sometimes, but the beefyness is worth it.

Paging Dr Wilco: Get the defibrillators and save this album
Gobias Industries replied to owl's topic in Just A Fan
I have IB Music for my comparisons of music cultures and artists. Seriously. -
Henry & The H Bombs tabbed by pt based off of Tweedy solo shows You have G chords, C chords, and D chords. G C D -3- -0- -2- -3- -1- -3- -0- -0- -2- -0- -2- -0- -2- -3- -0- -3- --- --- Ah, yes, it sounds more than that live, right? Well, here's the trick: Whenever you do a G, you want to toss in this little lick: ------3 -3----3 -2h4h20 ------0 ------2 ------3 Whenever you do a C, you want to toss in this little lick ------0 ------1 ------0 -0h2p0 ------2 ------3 And when you chance upon a D, you have two options: -2----2 -3----3 -2h4p2 -0---0 ------ ------ or: -2----2 -3----3

Uh... I love that interview thing. Priceless.

Not quite. But the more I watch the more excited I get.

Ok, I have this bugger figured out, at least Jeff's part. Side With The Seeds v.Jeff CAPO 1 - ALL STUFF IS IN RELATION. Capo 1 is backed up by video evidence. He never really NEEDS the capo, but whatev, it's Jeff Tweedy, he does whatever the fuck he wants. Verses: He doesn't play. Bridge lead-ins: -- --- ------------ -10--10-4-4-0-0-0-0 -11--11-6-6-2-2-2-2 -10--10-7-7-3-3-2-2 -- --- ----------- -- --- ----------- Bridge #1 soloing: -------------------------------------------------------------- 10-9-7-5~ -----------------------------------------------------------7-10--------- ---- 9--

Just as a note: The Jeff/Pat riff, Jeff plays what is written, but Pat harmonizes by playing 12 to 13 instead of going from 12 to 10. Pat could be going 13 to 12, this is off the top of my head.

Jeff Tweedy defends Sky Blue Sky? DEFENDS?

Unheard Beatles "last great song"
Gobias Industries replied to Analogman's topic in Someone Else's Song
I don't know what to think. Sure, all the Beatles are on it, but that doesn't mean the Beatles did it. Doing it means sitting there in that studio together doing the song. Not using one's demo tapes, another's demo tapes, and only two out of the four actually doing anything. The Beatles were the best band ever, but they absolutely sucked at reconciling with each other to make another record. I think they just need to deal with it, seriously, and not just slap some overdubs from Paul and Ringo onto old Lennon/Harrison demo tapes. It's not really Beatles. Lennon and Harrison aren't arou -
I tried editing "They are, in fact, the only band that matters" into the Wilco entry in Wikipedia once. I couldn't find it the next day.

I love the organ fills. So very Band/electric Dylanesque. Don't insult them. You insult the pump organ fills, and they will beat you up in your sleep.
-
It's Em instead of G nowadays, especially Tweedy solo.
-
It's what I do I meant to write Dsus4 instead of Dm, I just fixed it.

it's the 8th fret, not the 10th fret. 10th fret would be F, but I hear Eb, which means 8th fret. the "1st riff:" ----0-0- -5-50-0- -3-30-0- ----0-0- ----0-0- ----0-0- and etc. and on the second riff where you have the 8 stuff on the B it's a lot easier this way (and from looking at vids it seems that Tweedy does it this way too). D-5-353- B------0 And for when it gets hardcore, I'm only going to outline what he actually frets, because mapping out all the ringing open strings too (which are absolutely everywhere) would make it look like my computer exploded. ------------------

it's... A-D-C#m-D A-Adim-Bdim-A A D C#m Adim Bdim --- --- --- --- --- -5- -7- -5- -7- -6- -6- -7- -6- -5- -7- -7- -7- -6- -7- -9- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- ---- ---

I'm correcting these based on the solo version and partially what I do. You Are My Face, or: Thoust Art My Image Upon My Brow Whenever you do the D chord you want to throw in the sus4, so it would look like this: D Dsus4 -2-2 -3-3 -2-0 -0-0 -0-0 ---- All bridge parts use BAR CHORDS. Verses are open chords. You Are My Face D I remember my mother's sister's husband's brother G Working in the gold mine, full time, filling in for sunshine D Filing in to tight lines, ordinary beehives Em The door screams i hate you, hate you G Hanging 'round my blue jeans D Why is there no breeze? D No cu

Makes me feel all warm and toasty inside.

It's absolutely gorgeous. Hopefully it hasn't been shared before, but either way its good to know that Wilco is "being there" in Europe even when they really aren't.
-
My question is: If I preordered from the Wilco website will I be getting these goodies?

I don't see it?
