It's a sensible choice, but even though I love Wilco more than any other option, you'd be hard-pressed to not choose the White Stripes (or just plain old Jack White).

AFC:
Colts
Patriots
Bengals
SD
NFC:
Saints
Vikings
Eagles
I have them about in ranked order of what I think the outcome would be, with top most likely. Pats are always dangerous. I don't like 'em but I wouldn't count them out. I don't see the Ravens as contenders; their lack of offseason moves has now exposed the team, and people are making them pay. Through the secondary for opposing offenses (holes at CB especially) and lack of a dominant receiving corps against opposing defenses (which means their passing game is passing to Ray Rice). I really don't think they will get a Wild Card spot. It'll probably be the Broncos and then whoever makes it to second place in the AFC South or East. So either Jags/Titans/Texans or Jets/Dolphins.

R.I.P. to Chris Henry. Always a tragedy to see an NFL player go, especially one on the road to redemption like Henry was.
I can see NO "brees" (haha!) into the NFC championship game, but they could very well lose it to whomever they play there. AFC, I don't really see too many problems for the Colts in the projected playoff bracket.

Enjoy 2010 on VC's Terms
This should be the calendar title.

I hereby nominate this:

i really like the music and even the singing on the album, but the subject matter/lyrics are just a little too flimsy and annoying for my liking. maybe i'lll get over that. i don't know. anyone else feel this?
I can see that. And with the cursing too. I don't really mind the cursing all that much (of course, I do pull out the cursing sometimes so it doesn't bother me). Perhaps its an indicator of laziness, and the guy totally seems immature about everything, but I suppose that innocence and naivety of it all (this applies to the cursing too) is sort of what grabs me.
I'd rather have coarse and vulgar speech than what the Decemberists are putting out (pompous and verbose), for what it's worth.

1. Dirty Projectors - Bitte Orca
2. Animal Collective - Merriweather Post Pavilion
3. Girls - Album
4. The Flaming Lips - Embryonic
5. Grizzly Bear - Veckatimest
Those are the only five I have accurately placed.

J. Mascis on Dinosaur Jr.'s "Pick Me Up". Truly epic.
I'm actually partial to "Plans" or "I Don't Wanna Go There" off of the new one, but that's a good one.

Christ, I have no idea, it mighta been Rolling Stone's interview with BB King or something. I read it years ago. Even if it's not actually true, as a myth it's pretty damn funny. It also still gets my point across, which was the idea.

If we're talking technical mastery of the instrument, Nels still wins out to me:
But on the whole, my theory of guitar soloing can be summed up with this story between SRV and BB King:
SRV got the chance to play with BB King, one of his idols, for obvious reasons. SRV was nervous, but when BB King came up there and played, SRV made it rain. Going crazy and everything, fiery passion and whatnot. Obviously talented, and all. But when it came BB's turn to solo, he played one note. Ping! And everyone laughed, because everyone knew in one note, the idol had shown up the idolizer.
I am a believer in brevity when it comes to guitar soloing...I have no patience for sheer wankery.

Yeah, unless there's some development to the characters or some guy who can foil both, the show has the danger of collapsing on itself.
That being said, any time ex-Arrested Development folks get together is a great time.

Since I Left You by the Avalanches is missing? I call hogwash.

I hereby release this guy for use if you want it:
It's a shot of my own little money tree from when I first had it. The dude has grown about six to eight inches since (and still growing!).

I hardly see how Wilco (the album) is Americana, but you have to admit that if you were Wilco, you'd be pretty damn happy to be in the same category as some of those folks (Dylan, Helm).
-
not really sure. its just really different and not like it should be
The old one is in C while the new one is in A, and there's a rock-tastic coda in the old one while it's not really there in the new one. The differences are marginal.

Done. Had to think about some of the options and actually count "what have I gotten this year?"

I'm almost never on, but I'm jmacomber16. I'll be on more in a few months when I get a better tv set up. I remember being friends with a few arrested development themed gamertags (back when I played the first Modern Warfare) you wouldn't happen to already have me as a xbox live friend? That'd be nuts
Nope. My gamertag is the Big Lebowski related...the Archdude, a play on "the Archduke" like "El Duderino" and "His Dudeness" are plays on their respective titles.

The Saints looked pretty good.
Pretttyyyyyyyyy, pretttyyyyyyyyyy, pretttyyyyyyyyyyyyyy good.
Slight understatement?

I can get around to it eventually, but my work is piling up at the moment. If you can give me at most two weeks, I'll have something to corroborate.

I don't think I'd trust any artist living or dead to do the Beatles but the Beatles. Sorry, people.

It's a very conservative list. Maybe Pitchfork has gotten soft. The more likely explanation, though, is that indie went mainstream.
