  2. "I'm to cool to listen to critically acclaimed albums" phase. He said to me, " That album is so overrated, Jeff Tweedy could record himself taking a sh*t in somebody's front lawn and people would fawn all over it" oi, dont touch that shit... it came from jeff
  3. i heard a story yesterday that the band wanted to launch the new album and a bar called Cherry Bar down here. the bar is located in AC/DC Lane. earlier this year, all of Wilco (minus Jeff) went and partied there was us after their show ...... to bad there was a fire there recently and the band might not be able to do it
  4. wow!. havent seen that one. there was a series of Cosmic Energy vcds/dvds that had most of this footage, but i assume this an upgrade in quality. http://www.argenteumastrum.com/Led_Zeppeli...smic_energy.htm if you want to trade for it, i'm all ears/eyes
  5. > Care to share your first time? i prefer not to say but with wilco, hearing about billy bragg and some american back-up band covering unrecorded guthrie tunes, i was curious because i'm a big Dylan fan. i loved the album. it was labelled as billy bragg's new album, and wilco were shoved off as his back-up band. BUT, california stars is what got played on radio. i loved it, and worked backwards. loved it all and moved forward as time went on. first live show was in Jan 2003 which was a 29-song monster show in a small venue. the rest is history.

"QUOTE (froggie @ Sep 2 2008, 10:26 PM) nightmare ???? " sorry... the album still hasnt got me. on stage, the songs sound good, but too dry/sterile on the studio version but SBS was a big sigh of relief. i hope they continue with a similar sound

i had a nightmare last night that the next album will sound like AGIB... stop it people!
  14. his 95 shows were excellent. 1994 was nearly as good after those long, rambling tunes from 93. one of his band members should have given him a kick up the arse to stop the soloing and get back to the song. i dont need a 15 minute version of Simple twist of fate!
  15. from what i've heard/understand, it's standardised or scaled. it depends on how many people are buying cd's over the period, for example, even though the album might be at #1, there's a chance that people didnt buy much copies of it compared to recent numbers woo-hoo... i can help a-man! lots of questions are answered here: http://www.ariacharts.com.au/pages/charts_faqs.htm
  16. yep, even at Shepperds Bush, for old time's sake!
  17. shhhh.... there's a cop station 50 meters down the street
  18. > They played Handshake Drugs as well with the festival issue, when they first played down here in 2003, it was pretty much a festival tour, but they threw in 2 full shows as well (and the US to Australia is a lot longer than a trip to Ireland!). you'd think they could have done that in Ireland too.. would have been good to throw Mountain bed in there for that dude with it across his chest
