yeah, they've been quite varied lately compared to the static sets of a few months. and noty forgetting the 'day of the week' sets last year. some of those tunes from the last couple of shows are very rarely played and he threw them all in one show

froggie replied to remphish1's topic in Someone Else's Song

i heard california stars a couple of times on the radio in 1998.... 'twas enough to make me a fan

any version. although the earlier ones seem a bit ragged though. i think the song really started being a live highlight with the band since 2001 onwards. i love those september-december 2001 versions... and the way jeff drags the rock n roll lyrics at the end. maimed by rock n roll, tamed by rock n roll, blamed by rock n roll, not ashamed by rock n roll, got my name from rock n roll.... i dont need rock n roll anymore although the acoustic ones have been since day 1

he needs a set of earplugs for his upcoming shows then

SHAME ON YOU GUYS! - DOESNT ANYONE REMEMBER THIS ONE??? not that i can talk - the threads been up for 24 hours and it only just came to me..... i even had the t-shirt back in 1988-9 fucken.... looked how it jinxed me - turbning to the piss to forgetr about my supervisor Here's a little song I wrote You might want to sing it note for note Don't worry, be happy. In every life we have some trouble But when you worry you make it double Don't worry, be happy. Don't worry, be happy now. (Chorus) Don't worry, be happy. Don't worry, be happy. Don't worry, be happy. Don't worry

i only listened to it a few times when i got it. it was great but thr song selection leans heavily on the last 2 albums... those good quality audience recordings give a much better representation of what the shows are like

mermaid avenue was the album that turned me on to wilco after hearing california stars on the radio. then i went backwards and bought being there. wilco were unknown here at the time (heh, and largely still are!) and BT blew me away. its still my fave from their catalogue
