Ted Kennedy to be succeeded by a toolbag

I don't know whether to thank you for posting or not. I respect Andrew Sullivan and enjoy reading his work but the above is too depressing. -
I am not at liberty to say due to a pending civil suit. Seriously, it is because I used a lower case 'l'. I was merely referring to the upstairs open area in some houses. I didn't know where it was until I received a PM after my post.

Say, where is the loft? Edited so as to not sound like a jerk-face because I am not one.

I wasn't being smarmy or smug. I just wanted to share that video. No one would think that it has any relationship to Wilco unless you focus on the bad dreads.

Ha ha! Is that not arguably the biggest piece of shit ever? What on Earth? I was fucked up in the early '80s but what was with the British youth?
-
Huh? I thought that you were a major Wilco fan. Read the thread title.

If you don't subscribe to Carrie Brownstein's Monitor Mix blog, you may have missed this one about Jay Reatard. It includes a short doc about him: http://www.npr.org/blogs/monitormix/2010/01/jay_reatard_rip.html

I have lost in my battle to avoid this thread. While buying tickets for Wilco this go round, it hit me that the words that come up in the security check would make excellent band names. I weakened when this came up while giving Durham another shot tonight: 'special poitier'. I capitulated at 'antigen police' a bit later. Post your winners here. Or not. If this is the wrong VC area for such a thread, sorry. Hell, as above-average as this crowd is, it has probably been covered already.

Canceling my emusic membership has proven to by a financially shrewd move. They send me '75 free downloads to come back' emails a few times a year. I always rejoin, dl the 75 and then cancel. A couple of months later, I get an email...

Ha ha on the AirTran/ValuJet. I use them in economics class when we are learning about the reasons for mergers, one of which is to lose a negative corporate identity.

Oh, yes. I remember that. It was just expected. I know that I am old when all that I can say is, 'times change'.

Thanks for that. Flying is so far removed from what it once was. Some of the difference is simply due to cultural change and the novelty wearing off, no longer dressing 'nicely', for example. Some is due to economics as in cramped qurters and less service. And of course, the security changes. I still enjoy flying because I love to travel but I am glad that I have memories of flying circa 1970 on. A totally different head. International flights are the only time that the service even approaches the 'old days'. I agree with Winston that picture #4 of the Southwest stewardesses (did I spell tha

Now those I can dig. Very cool. They even have 'Those Heady Days Of Madchester'! Thanks for the link. Way beyond my price range, though.

Ha ha! I've never been to Wilco's Wikipedia page. Was the chart VC created? To each his own but for me, that's life imitating a Styx song. Sorry for posted something that is novel to no one but your's truly.

If this has been posted somewhere or is a complete waste of cyber-space, admin/mods please delete it and I'll serve a suspension or something. Serious fan-boyin' like this made me laugh. Is it possible that a non-VCer created it? http://www.thegearpage.net/board/showthread.php?t=647712&page=19 I tried to just copy and paste the chart instead of the link but my skills are at a minimum. If someone can do it, feel free.
