Thinking of you down in F L A. I don't know what the specific thyroid concern is but my wife had a thyroid biopsy many years ago. It came back negative, fortunately, but it was decided it would be best to remove it as a precaution against a likely malignancy. She got along fine with synthroid for years and recently, Armour (spelling?). It is more natural (supposedly). Her only fear is a World Wide Calamity disrupting the pharmaceutical industry. Keep your spirits up. No use worrying until you get actual information.

You guys are very nice and welcoming to someone that digs Belgium! My wife and I are Rick Steves devotees and travel local and 'close to the ground'. We enjoy Bruges the same way. I would have said something along the lines of, "Glad to hear that you have discovered the charms of Belgium. Have you ever been to Gent? If not, check it out because if you like Brugge, you'll like Gent. It has the medieval history but is not as touristed." But obviously, we are different people! I live in Florida and the 'old people' descriptor is as silly for the F L A as my experience says that it is for

Just popping in to say thank you to all of the posters in this thread. This board makes me laugh everyday, usually more than once. It is part of my healthy living regimen, just like running and not eating fast food.

I love Belguim! If my wife and I ever win millions in a slip and fall case, we are moving to Brugge. What a beautiful city. We have been there 3 times. We can't go to Europe without a stop in Bruges. The countryside of Belgium makes for the perfect bike ride. And we a re serious beer lovers. If not for the recession, we'd be there for Wilco! Well, no we wouldn't. We are back to teaching on the 17th. Carry on.

I know that this is the internet, the place where opinion reigns supreme, but that anyone has strong enough emotions regarding an album cover to debate it... I mean it isn't even controversial. No nudity, politics, etc. Who really cares about the cover of an album? For the record, I like it.

YES!! The Coffee Creek shows are my favorite things to listen to on road trips. I'd rather see a Coffee Creek reunion than an Uncle Tupelo one. I was actually expecting that it might happen for the Gary Scheppers benefit. I figured that it would be more likely than UT. Less drama because you are only playing covers, Brian involved trying for bygones "It's GARY!!", etc. I know that an approach was made... Ah well, "Where would we be without wishful thinking".

I agree! The last time I saw The Bottle Rockets, I wore a "Johnny Cash flippin' the bird/Fuck Uncle Tupelo" t shirt (For those of you that don't know, the only time that Son Volt and Wilco shared a bill was at Wavefest in Charleston - I think that's the right city - back in 1996. Some of the band members and crew wore those shirts). Keith Voegele, the bass player and Brian got a kick out of it. It prompted Brian to tell some hilarious UT anecdotes, one involving a key road difference betweeen Jeff and Jay/Mike/Brian. He is always good for some interesting and/or funny UT history at the farrar
