Me neither. -
Hey! I just realized that I wasn't that far off!

As Paul Harvey used to say, "Now we know the rest of the story". If that was you Brent, I was trying for a laugh, hence the wink. You make some kickass rock and roll.
-
Thanks, Jody!! We've all been hoping for a way to see it. Spin rocks because of interns like you!

Is anyone taking book that VC's Brent Best is actually the manager of "Whiskey Glass Eye"?

Bo Diddley bought his babe a diamond ring, If that diamond ring don't shine, He gonna take it to a private eye, If that private eye can't see He'd better not take the ring from me. Bo Diddley caught a nanny goat, To make his pretty baby a Sunday coat, Bo Diddley caught a bear cat, To make his pretty baby a Sunday hat. Mojo come to my house, ya black cat bone, Take my baby away from home, Ugly ole mojo, where ya bin, Up your house, and gone again. Bo Diddley, Bo Diddley have you heard? My pretty baby said she wasn't for it.

Not trying to pressure or beat a dead horse but I bought mine directly from Ruth Eckerd Hall's website, for what it's worth. I agree that Wilco would easily be a no-brainer at any price!

Thanks, Mike. The expense is why I initially opted out. As of yesterday there were still a couple of pairs of seats in the last row - Carter Country - Jaysus! Anyone remember that show! - in case you find $118. I'll buy you a beer. It'll be in the parking lot from a cooler in the trunk but it'll be a good beer. I hope that your economic situation, shit the country's economic situation, improves soon.

What? Dissing Run For your life? Justifying threats of domestic violence, mayhem and murder? What's not to love?
-
Thanks1 I can't wait to say, "Mom, did you and dad have a JLA from the JLO or were you turning me on to excellent music illegally?

I'm just an excitable boy.

"Wilco will love you, baby"

Me too. That's some sticky bubblegum right there but quality. Bazooka Joe from back in the day. Not that baseball card cardboard crap.

Wow. There can be no better example of money-grubbing. There is no way that any art will be involved. It is truly sad. When I think of the Jackson Five I have many positive memories, images, sounds. I don't want them replaced. Talk about pissing on your reputation.

I never thought about all of this before but it makes sense. Not that I necessarily agree with it but I understand the copyright law. So the best jukeboxes in Tampa at the New World Brewery and The Hub are illegal if the bars aren't paying BMI and ASCAP? I'll have to ask my mom if she and my dad paid licensing fees for the jukebox at Carter's Drive In in the 60s. I'll be surprised if she even knows what in the hell I'm talking about.

That was nothing but fun all around. Everyone was just enjoying what they were doing. It couldn't have been better. Thank you for the mp3, Hixter.

I haven't heard it yet but I am imaging her excellent voice singing Jesus, etc. They seem tailor made for each other.

What the best seats you had for a concert?

I agree that was a great show. That rain made it one the most joyful nights in memory. Fun, laughter, love and excellent music. I couldn't stand the feeling of my saturated T shirt and took it off. When I went to the bathroom a security guy wouldn't let me go back to my seat without a shirt. I was maybe 50 feet from my seat. "My shirt is at my seat with my wife'. 'You can't go in the seats without a shirt' I felt like Yossarian. He actually had to get his superior while another guy watched me! The boss told me to go sit down! -
I had decided not to say another word about it due to 58 views and not one reply. Not a 'that sounds cool' or a 'Geoff Emerick!!' nor a 'you moron. I saw it and it they are blasphemous hacks' or a 'I was lucky enough to catch a show. Enjoy!' or a 'you lucky bastard'. Hell, not even a 'fuck you, you bastard. No one gives a shit.'. Hell even the other Tampa Bay area VCers had no reply at all...GAH!! PhilCollinsesis!! But now I will gladly give a report. Thank you, ms yvon. You give mods, a good name.

I broke down and got tickets for this today. I wanted to get them back when they first went on sale but made the financially smart decision and did not. This morning I went to the Ruth Eckerd Hall site and the 2 center seats in the last row - the best of the cheap seats! - some how were available. I got out the little plastic devil and, voila!, we're going. Cheap Trick did Sgt. Pepper's at 40 shows last summer with Geoff Emerick behind the soundboard and a full orchestra at the Hollywood Bowl and the Waldorf-Astoria. Since Robin Zander lives in Clearwater, his adopted town scored a show on 21

At shows in smaller venues that are general admission, I have often been what would be akin to first, second, third row. I have had 2nd through 5th rows several times for various reserved shows. The best tickets that I have ever had were in Jacksonville this past August for Wilco. My wife and I were front row right next to the speakers and Nels. We totally dug being so close and were transfixed with Nels but it was so goddamned loud that the last 5 songs or so were unenjoyable musically. Our poor little cilia were beaten down. It was a sonic mess. I have been that close in club/bar type venu -
I look forward to it. I am sure that we'd have a hell of a time making like the Curmudgeon God H. L. Mencken. My wife and I planned on going to the Residency but I couldn't get tickets. Chicago is one city that we have not visited together. I will happily take you up on your offer one day. Let me know if you find yourself in the Tampa area.

I voted yesterday. It took as long as a Cardinals concert - 70 minutes . I didn't mind waiting at all. The atmosphere was festive. Lot's of folks obviously voting for the first time. Talking about Obama. Very energetic, family vibe. From a long line snaking around the library parking lot, I could count the white faces on one hand. I live in an inner-city (CODE WORD!!!) neighborhood so the closest early polling place was also in the inner city (CODE WORD ALERT!!!). It felt really good. It is the first time in all of my years of voting that I truly felt a part of something greater than myself.
