tray, much respect to you. I have taught high school for 23 years and have never encountered a teen (you said that you are 19) that knew what a vig was much less used it accurately in a sentence. That is knowledge of some serious old school argot.

Ha ha! Ben is a character's character. And the world is better for it.

When they open with Outta Mind (Outta Sight), you know that it's going to be an amazing show. That was an excellent set list. They were a kick ass straight up rock band for 2 hours. Time and money were again well spent. It was a pleasure meeting and talking with Wendy, Watch Me Fall and Elixir Sue for a couple of hours. Thanks!

Trey, I apologize. I received information about you that appears to be incorrect. C'est la vie. Also, I am unsure what 'go suck a fat one' means. Do you want me to fellate a large penis? If so, why? Do you want me to smoke a joint? Again, why? Or is it just a generic insult in the vein of the classic 'blow me'?

Take your scalping business somewhere else. Your Spanish clients are S O L (your ass certainly isn't seeing 3 shows in Spain). You have become an annoyance. Maybe if you posted for reasons other than selling tickets. Just say no to posting at VC. Thank you in advance.

I am out the door and on the road. See ya!

In a great song that has more cheese than a Stuffed Crust pizza, this line is the cheesiest: Now these fine ladies, they had a plan They was out to meet the boys in the band They said, "Come on dudes, let's get it on!" And we proceeded to tear that hotel down When the song came out, I remember thinking how cool that line was. "Oh yeah, they GOT IT ON!!!" Ah, youth.

The guy that was supposed to meet me at the show and buy my extra tickets has not responded to recent emails. So the store is back open! Orchestra left, row O, seats 1 and 3. Total including fees is $82.90. Email me at docarter1@msn.com ASAP if interested. I am leaving at 3:30 PM tomorrow (Friday). Thank you.

Dear Kort, I am sure that you missed a digit in your phone number but just in case you inadvertently posted your SSN... you should delete it. signed, Cautiously Helpful, a.k.a. Helpfully Cautious

Thanks1 So now my wife and I have a more difficult choice. Either Wolf Trap, Portland or Lewiston. Arrgh!

Which date is considered 'Niagara Falls'? I assume that it is one of the non-Brooklyn NY dates. Thank you!

Edie, I apologize if my above post sounded all 'smartypantsy'. I just want to hear Candyfloss. I saw them several times in '04 and '05 when it did get a little run out but it was never at one of 'my' shows. I have seen them since AM but only lost my mind, roadtrip-wise, starting in 2004.
-
Candyfloss is not played 'pretty often'. Once in 2008 during The Residency (so that doesn't really count), none in 2007 and 3 times in 2006 but 2 of those were Tweedy shows and one of those was Hotel S n' S. I wish that they played it often.
-
I really don't have a strong opinion but reading 'Candyfloss' in your list reminded me of how ever since the Summerteeth tour, my wish has been to hear/see 'Candyfloss' live. I have seen Wilco many times but have never caught one of the odd shows where they busted it out.

From the Grifter's house in Crawfordville, FL, it's 500 miles, so we have about an 8 hour drive. Therefore it looks like the Downtown Grill and Brewery for us. Dang, I wish that we could make the movie but that seems impossible... See you1

I'm sorry that no one was able to help you. Thankfully, you were able to figure it out yourself. 'Life On A Chain'! Who knew??
-
I'm guessing that it's 'Life On a Chain' by Pete Yorn.

I'll be there, Music Today Lord willing and the USPS don't run dry.

Have any of the MusicToday Presale Tickets Shipped yet?
Doug C replied to frogwater's topic in Just A Fan
Yes, if my tickets arrive! -
This has nothing really to do with what you want but hearing a local musician cover 'Screen Door' after 'No Depression' came out is what started me on my Tweedy/Farrar jones. I assumed that it was Will Quinlan's - the guy that covered it - song (By the way, Will is talented enough to have done so. Check him out). My buddy told me that it was an Uncle Tupelo song. I borrowed 'No Depression' from him and the rest is history.

I was wondering why a banned member pmed me. I excitedly opened it hoping to find a plea to join some sort of VC revolution in aid of the unjustly banned. Imagine my surprise...
-
I agree. That is truly a song that I never need to hear again. Few people can write a song so obviously contemporary that it stands the test of time. I will say that I honestly cannot think of a Tweedy song that has a similar response!
-
I didn't say that anyone was comparing them. I just said that I have no desire to do so. It is admirable that no one has ever compared them, though.

How you seen the Farrar, Duplantis, Bryson, Masterson, Spencer Son Volt? If not, I can't believe that you'll call them a 'freaking joke' once you see them. If you have, then I agree with hardwoodfloor.
