Those are some big teeth!

No need to be snarky. They were literally posted at the same time. Excuuuuse me.

This show is now available for purchase in the Roadcase!

I actually spoke to John about It's Just That Simple the last time they were in Austin. He told me he felt like he was channeling Rick Danko when he wrote it. It's always been a favorite of mine, probably because I love The Band so much.

Here's a nice little review of yesterday's set. I've always found Michael Corcoran to be a bit of a curmudgeon but he does love Wilco.
-
He didn't do it on Friday so it would appear that he followed through but I can't say for certain.

As I was going in I saw some tapers get hassled by the staff. I don't know if they ended up letting them in with their gear or not. I sure hope so!

This was probably the best Wilco show I've seen. I was really proud of the crowd, too, because shows at Stubb's have gotten really chatty lately and frankly it's embarrassing as a local. I'm not saying there weren't show-talkers but it wasn't overwhelming like it has been at other recent shows. I had the best time and I wish they were doing it again tonight!

After weeks without an opener for the Stubb's show, they've finally confirmed that it's An Evening With Wilco. Best news ever! Doors are at 8:00, Wilco goes on at 9:00 and the Friday curfew at Stubb's isn't until 12:30 so who knows how long this show could go on. I've been to dozens of shows there and I don't think I've ever seen a band that doesn't play until the venue cuts them off so we'll see!

i already have tickets. i can't wait! i ran into a couple of the guys from his band the other night and they're super stoked about that show. although i think the best show they've played was at the obama rally back in february!

black joe lewis-i don't mind

as far as i know it happened. i didn't go because i didn't want to wait in line for hours and then be crammed inside a hot, tiny room with too many people.

yeah, for some reason i thought that song was about jeff's grandparents. or maybe i made that up? but it obviously isn't about his mom. either way, it's super annoying when people talk through any song, especially the quiet ones! -
yeah, i think they played about 30 minutes at each stubb's show.

haha my sister compared his hair to wayne coyne after monday's show!
-
oh, another detail i forgot about...retribution gospel joined them on stage for california stars. i thought it was great!
-
ditto on both counts!

cars can't escape!!! i am so happy they played that one. it was another fabulous show. jeff had some funny banter about staying at the same hotel as carl rove. it was awesome!

this show was incredible! i was really upset last fall when i opted out of the dallas show that was happening right before ACL because they played "it's just that simple". i was bitter about that one for a long time. you should have seen the smile on my face when i heard the opening notes to that song. indescribable! it was the one song that i really had to hear. it's been a rough week and that all melted away during this show. it was definitely in the top 2 or 3 wilco shows i've seen. i bought both posters because i'm a sucker and i couldn't make a decision. i can't wait for tomorrow (i gu

okay, here's the schedule for 5/11 and 5/12 from stubb's: will call opens at 5:00 gates open at 6:00 rgc 7:00-7:30 wilco 8:30-10:30
-
alright, curfew is 10:30 but that's all i know. i called stubb's again and they hadn't updated the recording. bastards! but yeah, i would say if you're not getting there before doors to be there by 7:30 to get settled with drinks and a place to stand. i'm SO excited for these shows!! i just spent the last 3 days with my sister during her 40+ hour labor so i haven't had a chance to get antsy about these shows until now.

Wilco Playing All 3 Nights at Lollapalooza!!!!
Stefanie replied to Jimmy Coulas's topic in Just A Fan
yeah but the schedules for both of those festivals are already out, hence why wilcoworld has definitive dates for both of them. -
maybe the curfew is 10:30, i can't ever remember. i just know that it's early. which i guess is nice for people that have to work the next day!
-
well i called stubb's and they didn't have the info yet. they said they'll have set times in a day or two. usually their recorded line tells you exactly what time the opener is going to go on and what time the headliner goes on. if i were a gamblin' woman, i would say that rgc goes on at 7 until 7:45, then wilco goes on around 8:00 or 8:15 and plays until 10. since it's an outdoor venue they have a noise curfew so everything has to be done around 10. i'll check back with the stubb's line tomorrow and post if there is any news.
