  1. I went to my first Wilco show alone.....go for sure. LouieB
  2. Coming late to this party, but I have been on the road since the show.... I drove down to Bloomington alone and met up with the Detroit and Ft. Wayne crew, got a great seat from Wendy and had a blast. The show was fairly standard/excellent, with more keyboards mixed in than usual, which I thought was pretty special. Jeff looked great in the specs and long hair and he seemed really happy and engaged. It was pretty funny that he talked about the thread here on VC too. The crowd was great, respectful and quiet in all the right places and rowdy as hell when cut loose. Frankly compared to
  3. Well the shirt is nothing special, but those boots are pretty hot, not to mention the "savage" amps....OMG...hot hot hot. LouieB
  4. Great story...but what kind of shirt did he have on? LouieB
  5. I haven't seen Jenny Lewis, heard the album. Jenny is very pleasant and a good songwriter, but Neko is a fantastic vocalist as well as a songwriter. Will get back on tomorrow to talk about the Lansing show. Hmmm...anyone over at porchlight I wonder?? LouieB
  6. Post it here.... Can't wait for Saturday. Hope someone posts up a story about Chicago which I am passing on. LouieB
  7. Given to me by skyflynn and it is excellent. LouieB
  8. Just remember bobbob....don't drink to excess when you finally CAN drink. And if you do, do it in private..... There isn't anything wrong with getting loaded occasionally, but most of the time it turns out rather badly... LouieB
  9. Actually I was done wit it, but you brought it up and I can't let a thing go... LouieB
  10. Dude I KNOW people are going to drink at bars and at shows and I have said repeatedly that I don't expect silence at shows, in fact silence would be creepy too. (there are times I find the OTS shows creepy for that reason.) There is a pretty fine, but at the same time obvious, line between respectfully interacting with a performer and hassling the living shit out of them. Hell I yell requests too and make comments to Jeff on the stage between songs, cheer generally when appropriate, etc., but I don't scream over and over and over and when he starts playing I shut the fuck up. I know I am
  11. If someone from the group wants to start a thread, then I will give my 2 cents...actually I have more cents that that to give. Someone from the group last night when told who I was said I didn't look like my picture (avatar... ) LouieB
  12. There were few VCers at this NW suburban show. Needless to say it was fantastic, with Jeff playing with the Wilco Ensemble from the Old Town School and frankly he couldn't have been happier. I figure it is up to someone else to start this post, but seeing him in front of a reasonable audience and seeing him play with people who's major love is music (rather than alcohol and talking) was overwhelming. 13. they are very funny in a kind of obtuse and slightly pretentious way. Worth having for sure. LouieB
  14. Sounds like a great show...congrats.... LouieB
