  1. Thanks. We make our own breads and they all have some sort of dairy, but we do have vegetarian soups and a couple vegetarian sandwiches. For example: Side With The Seeds = Roasted tomatoes, caramelized onions and mushrooms served with a slice of cheddar cheese on our very own three cheese bread. Red-Eyed and Blue = A thick slice of mozzarella topped with tomato, sweet onion and sprinkled with basil leaves. On white or brown bread toasted to your liking and spread with wasabi mayonnaise.
  2. My wife and I recently opened up Sky Blue Sky Sandwich Company Ltd. at 605 Bloor Street West (upper unit). We had plans for this for some time now and it happened that we were able to get the place ready and open up last week in time for the concerts at Massey Hall. We've had some great feedback on the food and some returning customers for the first week. However, not one person has mentioned anything to me about the sandwiches named after Wilco songs (salmon salad sandwich = mermaid avenue; pulled pork = kingpin) or the music that is being played. One reason we went with the whole Wilc
  3. Don't know if this counts since it's me playing them, but my wife and I just opened up a Sandwich Shop (Sky Blue Sky Sandwich Company Ltd.) in Toronto, Ontario and not only are the sandwiches named after their songs, but every 15 minutes you're pretty much guaranteed to hear a Wilco song. Sadly, we've been opened up a few days and not one person has come in and said anything about the Wilco theme. How can no one ask "Why did you name your deviled egg salad sandwich 'Hell Is Chrome?'" Hopefully I can make some people into Wilco converts.
  4. The restaurant is going to be at 605 Bloor Street West - down the street from Honest Ed's. I like some of the names and we're rethinking a couple of our names... We were thinking Kingpin for the pulled pork sandwich but I might have to change it to the Barnyard Pimp. And the "Ashes Combo" for a sandwich and Coke is a must. We keep changing our minds on a sandwich title and maybe some of you can help. The sandwich is black forest ham and cream cheese on cinnamon raisin bread. Kind of like an updated ham and cheese. I was going to go with "Misunderstood" but I'm having doubts now.
  5. We also drive around Toronto listening to the Wiggles and Wilco. Our son's first concert was at Burlington, Vermont watching Wilco and we're debating on taking him to the Wiggles in October. We had a blast at the all ages concert in Vermont and it was amazing how many families were there with their children. I sometimes think my son thinks that Jeff Tweedy is like the nudie suit Wiggle On a side note - if you're in Toronto we're opening a restaurant in the coming weeks called Sky Blue Sky Sandwich Company Ltd. and it is themed around Wilco music. For example, Mermaid Avenue is our salmo
  6. Some good Canadian music - check out: - Wintersleep - Neverending White Lights
  7. Summerteeth confirmed that Wilco was a great and constanting evolving band. I've been really interested in that album after listening to Dr. Dog's "We All Belong" album. Anyone else notice similarities there?
  8. I can't seem to upload the picture but I did make it my avatar. I have a blown-up oversized picture staring at me in my office now. Muzzle of Bees was a perfect request because it is one of the best live songs. Ironically my son now looks at the picture and says "goco".
  9. I'm trying to upload a picture that was taken before the concert of Jeff and my family by I'm guessing gogo. Great request for Muzzle of Bees and this being the 7th time we've seen Wilco they keep getting better. Thanks for the picture - Jeff and gogo - it made my vacation!
  10. Born Again is a lot like SBS in the sense the you need to listen to it more than once. After my first listen I never touched it for another two months and thought I wasted all of my money. When I went back to listen to it I realized how good Wreckroom and Wanted are awesome...even the O'Rourke songs really started to grow on me.
  11. High Fivin' Motherf**ker by Local H (and as already mentioned - Song For The Dumped by Ben Folds)
  12. Nice cover shot. I really wish I could understand Spanish.
  13. The Guvernment in Toronto on April 17, 1999. My girlfriend - now wife - bought me tickets to see them after Summerteeth was released. I was a big fan and she was learning about Wilco (first summer dating). A friend told her that when it says "doors open at 6:00 that the concert really starts at 9:00." We arrived a little after 8:00 and the band was just ending. We caught the final three encores. Afterwards everyone was in the parking lot saying it was the best show ever and how amazing it was. She felt so guilty she started to cry. It was amazing what we saw and memorable. Now we'
  14. The only time I picked up a person "hitchhiking" was last summer when a kid in the middle of nowhere was walking down the road and wearing a Wilco shirt. I was always afraid of picking people up but I though, "How much harm can a person wearing a Wilco shirt cause." Turned out that he didn't even know who Wilco was but his mother always buys "lame shirts" from the concerts she attends. He was in the car for 15 seconds when he said that and I almost kicked him out right then and there.
