Yeah, if anything I think Nels is relatively restrained here. He's only gone fucking nuts once so far, on the end of "Side With The Seeds", and it was perfectly suited to the song.

I was thinking of Thanks I Get as soon as Hate It Here came on. It's almost like a rewrite, except it's perhaps 10x better. And I absolutely loved Thanks I Get.

My god. I honestly am sitting here right now, unable to believe how good this is. There has not been anything even resembling a dud yet. Every song is great.

"Patient With Me" is absolutely beautiful as well. And Nels just came in. I might cry.

I think it's a tie between "Impossible Germany" and "Shake It Off" for me right now. Both were incredible.

I was trying to talk myself into waiting for the release until I heard the songs that leaked today. Sorry, I just can't contain myself. I'm way too excited to try and wait. Plus, all the internet buzz is going to be happening when it leaks, not in May. By then, I mean people will still be talking about it, but not in the kind of mad frenzy that will surely occur when it leaks. I like that sort of thing.

I'm absolutely in love with Impossible Germany. easily the best of the new songs they've been playing, I think. Hearing live in person last night at the Chicago show was amazing, this is exactly the kind of stuff I want to see Nels doing on the new material. I also really love Is That The Thanks I Get, but I can't see it being on an album, really. I think it would work much better in their repretoir as a live staple. Same goes for Let's Not Get Carried Away: brings down the house live, but I can't see it translating very well in the studio. Walken is great as well, and one I could see wo

yeah, I think that new 'Seeds' song was one of the highlights of the set. The instrumental breaks were amazing. I think it sounded a little unfinished, though, I think. it just went verse --> break --> verse --> break / end. I think they need to stretch it out a bit more or something, but it was great nonetheless. I think this was the first time that song was played, no?
