has anyone tried to the new Hofner violin basses??, contemporary series ones, about 400 quid look real nice, just like the old ones but made in china, just curious to know if anyone has one or at least tried one out?

I'm a big ryan fan actually, i dunno how controversial that is around here...i think he's got a bit of a rock star ego/wants to be keef richards but he's still a stunning songwriter, makes great/timeless records

im so awkward and un co-ordinated id almost definately have an accident if i tried to get in the bath with a hummingbird i was once practicing my Johnny Cash impressions in the bathroom mirror and i dented my guitar on the door

Jackson Browne - his early stuff is stunning Graham Nash - often over shadowed by Stills, Crosby and Young but his solo albums are all stellar Paul Weller - it seems like everyones down with him now, and i dunno if he was ever big in the states, but his songwriting is spot on Neal Casal - saw him open for the Cardinals, and everyone was talking through out, too bad for them- his new album is PERFECT

i only just watched "I Am trying to break your heart" the other day, never got round to buying it for ages Jay seems like a massive knob, althought i guess we must remember this is Jeffs dvd sorta, and you could well have been edited in his favour just a thought

buy a nice 4-track, Tascam 414/424 (i had a Fostex that was dead good too) and a Shure SM57 (you can do everything with this mic) sorted then get a cable to get it from the 4 track to your PC so you can put it on myspace or whatever

nah its an old fender Reverb unit he has, seperate to the amp and he uses an MXR analog delay pedal mostly "JO: What effects do you use the most? NY: An original tube Echoplex, an MXR analog delay, a Boss flanger, and an old white Fender reverb unit with new springs that are separate. The springs are on a microphone stand that goes on the cement floor of the building. It extends up to the bottom of the stage, and the spring stands on top of the microphone stand and the wire comes through a hole in the stage completely separate. I can't use it if I don't do that, because if I jump onstage,

yeh perhaps, i just liked the idea of the pedal...seems like he gets a smoother effect rather then just wacking it on and he can adjust it to his liking, its just a little more expressive, i wonder if anyone makes a delay pedal with a mix/volume kinda pedal is the holy grail not digital though?, not that its a bad thing i just remember reading an interview with neil young saying how you should never put anything digital in the signal, i thought tweedy would be of the same belief

but how do i get a volume pedal to adjust the mix rather then just the volume?? im a complete effects pedal virgin btw, never bought one or used one

do you know what Tweedy uses for the delay for his acoustic stuff with the pedal too im looking for a similar thing to do kinda John Martyn stuff, but i dont want it to sound too spacey and naff

Ah i didnt relise they did, well thats awesome If they have the footage then i guess theres no reason why they wouldnt want to release it, its very unlikely a petition would do much as its most likely up to the record company more so then the band themselves no harm in trying i guess

do you know if they even filmed it??
